lightUTSaber Posted June 2, 2014 Report Share Posted June 2, 2014 THE RAID 2 - good news is that it's not censored, pretty much all the violence was intact, the not-so-good news is that the movie kinda fell short compared to the first. Then again it's not really a sequel as much as it's the movie the director wanted to make if he had a larger budget. Any ties with the original were severed in the first 10 minutes itself. The story worked for me, it really reminded me of Sleeping Dogs minus the humor. The movie is actually too serious for it's own good and somehow the kinetic energy of the first was missing. But the movie really picks up from the halfway point and doesn't let up until the end. There are some truly amazing fight scenes. The ones that stood out for me were the car chase, the intercut Hammer Girl / Bat Boy scene and the final boss fight - which was every bit as brutal as I expected... and then some. Overall it's definitely a must watch if you love hard hitting action movies. Just be warned that it's more of a crime drama than a non-stop action flick like the first one. had they improved the pacing the film would be awesome. sound editing,the overall mood and fight sequence was awesome. Tyler Posted June 2, 2014 Report Share Posted June 2, 2014 Yeah the first half had some serious pacing issues and I think some scenes could have been left out. I am actually fine with the story parts. It isn't just a mindless action flick like the first one. The acting is pretty good and I loved the characters, especially the Eka dude. While Rama is the biggest badass of the movie the other guy really kicked a*s in the car chase sequence. The other minor nitpick I have is that Mad Dog was a far better 'final boss' compared to the Assassin but this is mainly because his character wasn't as developed as Mad Dog. The actual fights themselves were almost equal, in fact I prefer the one in Raid 2 because of the music. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But they sent Wolverine just to make another movie around him. =/ How does Hank's serum cure Charles' paralysis? Why does Raven fetch Wolverine in the end? I hope Apocalypse focus more on other mutants and not just Wolverine. (but I doubt because of the ending) 7/10. Nothing spectacular. Charles and Quicksilver scenes were good. Also, the 3D was not even required. It was too dark. Hell he even gets his a*s kicked in the climax and has major PTSD during another action scene. The movie revolves around Xavier and Magneto for the most part. Their reason for sending Wolverine back is explained in the movie, he's the only one who would have been around in top shape plus his mind is already used to being mindf**ked. But yeah it was Kitty in the comics. Then again, which one is the more bankable star - Hugh Jackman or Ellen Page? As a comic fan I'd have loved to see Kitty get the spotlight but I can completely understand why it was changed. How does Hank's serum cure Charles' paralysis? Don't think much about this, it was a contrived plot device. Just accept that it's a magic medicine which enabled him to walk at the cost of his powers. This type of sh*t happens all the time in comics. Why does Raven fetch Wolverine in the end? This remains to be seen. Either in Apocalypse or Wolverine 3. I kinda hated this part because Stryker getting him would have made more sense. Some parts of history can be changes but others will always happen no matter what. However the OST in First Class was amazing..This was a complete let down..The pentagon scene was epic... Felt the movie should have had more action.. Will be happy if someone answers these questions In the 1st X man movie , Mystique helps magneto get out of the prison..She'll be there till the 3rd movie where she loses here power.. However in this movie they said that Mystique was captured and was taken captive..So i assume they took her DNA , brain tissue and whatever necessary and she would have been dead ?So if Mystique was captured and killed , how did she come in the 1st 3 movies Also When Wolverine comes back to the future does he have his adamantium claws ?n How did Magneto get his powers back ?
