dante77
^^ Don't think mods are gonna approve talking about such movies here ----- General musing unrelated to any particular person- My 0.02, going alone to movies is stupid and kinda lame. If you don't have people, then ghar par hi dekh lo, after making it a point to improve social skills, Ofcourse. Only reason to go to movies alone is- 1. Heat 2. Dirt cheap tickets Actually they are 2, but combination proves to be groovy. Only time i watched a movie alone was Dev D, ghar pe Bijuriya nahi thi and pvr had just opened in that part of delhi. 45 inr, pre noon show. I went in with grace and intensity of attempting a clandestine operation. Movie turned out to be aces to that's good _ What the?? So, you're saying that we should skip movies like Pacific Rim, DOFP, TAS, Gravity etc just because we can't find someone to watch the movie with? There are movies that needs to be seen in theaters and even if it is not that kind of movie, you are still wrong. We or at least I am not a type of person who goes to a movie because "getting bored yaar, lets watch a movie" of course there are times when I do that but usually I wait for a movie like waiting for GotG or avengers 2. I am not gonna skip these movies because no one wants to go with me. Yes, its kinda sad to go alone but its worth it for some movies.
Ne0
Even I dont "prefer" going to movies alone , it sucks the joy out of the experience, but then again, sometimes its better to go alone than not go at all... I was in finland for 3 months during winter (subzero temps, darkness all the time), and most of my indian friends were not into hollywood movies, went out alone to many movies like watchmen, inglorious basterds etc .... sure its less fun than going with friends, but so much better than staying at home and watch the cam print on laptops :-/

Aftrunner
I dont really mind going alone. Going with friends is better though. But people who wont go to see a film alone and rather watch a cam print or something are the real weirdos. Who cares what some random stranger in the theater thinks about it. Those are people you will never know, never meet and never speak with. Do what you like man. Who gives a sh*t what others think. Have some self confidence for crying out loud.
harsh1387
There is no doubt watching a movie with some company is always better. But, I won't deprive myself of watching and enjoying Hollywood movies cos my friends are not available or not interested in seeing them. In fact I think watching a movie alone in a theater is the only thing u can do alone and enjoy in d full. It's not like going to a pub where u need friends for gossip over drinks. You have to sit quietly in the hall to enjoy the movie and that can be easily done alone. Off late I am seeing lots of people coming alone to movies. Recently in Edge of Tomorrow show I was surprised to see a girl who came alone to watch it. In my case most of my friends are bollywood buffs and I hate bollywood movies. Like Aftrunner said it's anyday better than watching the sh*t a*s cam prints. If they could release the Blu rays within a week of movie release then I will never go and see it in a hall and rather enjoy at home. KyoyaHibari
Once you become a parent, going alone to a movie is a luxury not a majboori. Only 1 valid reason to go with someone else to a movie -> To shout like idiots with them and annoy everyone in theatre. If you are not one of those lame idiots, going alone or going together shouldn't matter. Going with family or partner or a friend you ocationally meet. Well then that's something nice. If you feel socially insecure and all, that's another story. Edited June 13, 2014 by KyoyaHibari

You've no idea at the kind of responses I get when I suggest this.... Also many people still believe all those 720p cam rips on torrent sites is the real 720p :-/ Their mentality is - why watch in theaters when you can get 720p for free on release day Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

That's exactly what a friend of mine told me. Why you waste 500 bucks when you can see a 720p rip at home.
