I have read in an article that comedians are more likely to commit suicide .

But he wasn't just a comedian, was more like a happy-go-lucky person. Will be re-watching his movies for couple of days like Hook and Good Will Hunting.

A man goes to see a doctor. Doctor asks what seems to be the trouble. The man says, "Doc, I'm depressed. Simply, I can't sleep sometimes, I can't eat, I feel down and irritable most days. I just can't feel 'happy.'"
The Doctor says, "I've got the perfect fix for you. In town tonight is the great clown Pagliacci. He's hysterically funny and will make you laugh til you cry. You will experience a joy unprecedented."
The man bursts into tears. The doctor, confused asks why. "Doc, I am Pagliacci."

Yea ...Same here.

About him being more as Happy-Go-lucky person you are right but they too are very likely to commit suicide then most....Was few days a teen girl in USA (i think) commited suicide ...she was know to be very happy going person. Playing with her younger bro etc etc. But her diary revealed she was quite depressed inside.
