The pan masala ads have always been so f**king weird. Its always some guy in a penthouse or a business executive in London closing a deal. Or now James Bond. Its marketed like a luxury brand. Like an expensive watch or perfume.

And the only people I have ever seen eating Pan masala are manual laborers.

Its fascinating. Did an ad agency sell them this idea and they loved it? Or was this the vision they had for their product? Like ultimately its gonna be a status symbol.

It's not necessarily that way. Pan masalas sell a lot(and I mean like a LOT) .The majority of the buyers are manual labour. I had undertaken a construction project recently and to my surprise the masons and helpers used to eat 8-10 small packets a day at the very least. I've seen a lot of rich folks use pan masala as well. I'm not surprised they have big ads on TV. The owners of these groups are like billionaires. :P

The Wailing is pretty f**king awesome!!

It starts out as a murder mystery similar to something like Memories of Murder but gradually sinks its teeth into supernatural territory, and boy is it a treat! It feels like it's heavily influenced by Korean folklore and it's all the more fascinating because of it. It is also beautifully shot and has a nice gloomy atmosphere perfect for a movie like this.

I didn't quite get a few things in the movie though. Read a few theories online but I'm still left with a couple of unanswered questions :\

Next up on my watchlist: The Handmaiden
