Compared to Bollywood, the Baahubali franchise has much more universal appeal.

And you really can't blame the haters because they've been brainwashed by Bollywood. They just can't seem to wrap their head around the fact that India could produce an epic movie and that a film industry other than Bollywood pulled it off.

Oh ya Bollywood has been serving utter sh*t of late except dangal and to some extent sultan, everything else was absolutely pukish.

Why do you think @hope is the way he is? Why do you suppose he gets a lot of hate for promoting SRK? I've never understood why everyone hates SRK. In my opinion SRK is a terrific actor who has tremendous screen presence. But the hate he receives isn't because of his acting skills but largely thanks to Bollywood having heavily typecast him into the role of a lover. It's because of Bollywood's reluctance to admit that they're an unimaginative lot that SRK receives the kind of hate that he gets. What a waste of talent! Bollywood repeatedly chooses to take the easier path, creating a movie that revolves around SRK instead of choosing to cast opposite another strong lead actor.

Take a serious movie like Collateral (2004) for example. SRK would've made an f***ing awesome Vincent provided they could've found a less popular but convincing actor to play Max. But a hindi-remake would fail miserably simply because Bollywood has heavily typecast SRK as the brooding, forlorn lover with fans expecting at least one dance number.

Everyone up north thinks that nepotism is the biggest problem with Bollywood. Well the truth is it isn't. If there's anything to be learnt from Baahubalis' success then it's time for Bollywood to wake up and reinvent themselves. They need to stop chasing after profits and start taking risks with different genres which they can quickly accomplish by scouting for lesser-known talent.

1000 Cr Globally, 800 Cr in Domestic(all three versions), guess it will end up around 1200-1300 Cr, what an achievement.

They should release a LE bahubali bluray collection with the bahubali sword, i will buy it in a jiffy.

and a good human being too, but if he keeps delivering movies like Raees, Happy New Year & Dilwale, he better retires, then to put his fans through pain. He should be leading the change in bollywood not re enforcing it's flawed base.

Well last couple of years had few good Bollywood movies by huge stars, especially Amir and Salman.Dangal and Bajrangi Bhaijaan/Sultan are very well acted.Even SRK's short role in Dear Zindagi was good.

Collateral does have a hindi remake. It's the Emraan Hashmi and Irfan khan starrer The Killer and to be honest it's pretty decent. Irfan khan was decent as vincent and emran as max.

I liked this trailer. Much better than the craps dished out by Salman etc. I would watch this movie. It has that Tanu Weds Mannu 2 vibes. And Shruti Hassan is HOT.

Dangal was an exception and a brilliant one at that.

But just think how much better the movie would've been had SRK played Vincent and if Bollywood could've cast a unknown/lesser-known talent perfectly suited to Max's stock character.

Why do you think a serious actor like Irrfan Khan was chosen to play Vikram? Because the average Bollywood fan will not comprehend SRK playing any other role than that of a lover in a movie that does have at least one dance number.

Baahubali 2:

Seriously, Baahubali 2 is epic. I never expected it to be of this scale even in my wildest imagination! Dare I even say, it is much, much better than many mainstream films Hollywood is putting out these days! Something which I thought I'd never say for an Indian film!

Almost everyone who has seen The Beginning will clearly have a fair idea of the basic plot points in this film yet the director manages to maintain the suspense and unfolds the story in a very interesting manner which is a treat to behold, especially the WKKB sequence, rather a painful one. I was literally pounding my feet in ecstasy in some scenes :lol Characters in this film will surely be remembered for a long time and I really liked the idea of how pride can cloud even a strong minded person's judgement and lead to a complete downfall. In this case, Sivagami. Solid performances from the lead cast.

While the drama in The Beginning induced mixed feelings throughout ranging from discomfort to awkwardness, it is sensible in The Conclusion handled in a simple yet elegant and beautiful way. One of the major surprises for me is the dialogue in this film. No usual corny and overdramatical stuff (at least in Telugu, not sure how it is translated to in the other languages). Coming to the action sequences, they can easily match Hollywood standard IMHO. Although the ending is totally rushed making only a little sense, the set pieces are a treat to watch!

I left the theatre with a great pride and satisfaction! Never expected it and never felt like this in recent times!

PS: I'd gladly pick Baahubali 2 over ANY film in DCU/MCU.

Cheers!
