Okay, did I watch some other movie? I don't know, because I didn't like GOTG 2 too much, which is weird because I loved the first part and can still watch it and enjoy, and after reading the reactions here I fully expected to like the second part too. Eh.

We went IMAX for this one, and the 3D was absolutely incredible and the VFX was trippy, and some sequences, specially with Yondu were amazing, but overall I was kinda.. bored. Yup. The fun bits were spaced and few and far, the story itself wasn't up to snuff and was cliché AF. The whole bit about his dad and what he was and everything seemed dimwitted and honestly, I didn't really buy it.

It wasn't funny enough, wasn't fun enough, and overall I just couldn't wrap my head around a few things.

Then there was that whole bit of them going MOS around the end which was uninspired. Why does every "celestial" just has to, has to go batshit bonkers, every single time in every story ever told? And, if this guy was gee oh dee, wouldn't that make him a superior being to Thanos?

Lastly, there was also just too much melodrama which just killed it for me. The first one is way, way better. :( Edit: The music too wasn't up to the first one's levels. Not even close.

PS: In IMAX sometimes the subjects were so small compared to the rest of the screen, it felt like we were in a toy world.

Regarding spoilers, yes he is more powerful than Thanos.

Currently in MCU, even Drax and Hulk can defeat Thanos individually. Dr Strange once he knows his powers and learns everything can beat him too, so can Odin.

However Thanos with infinity gauntlet is God tier, not sure how they will beat him.

Everyone will be fighting together, it's going to be an epic showdown. Dr Strange and Guardians will play a key role.

Contrary to all the reviews here, I was highly disappointed with GoTG2. Sure, it was funny, but good humor is pretty much the only good thing in the movie.

Weak Villian (Not by the superpower), weak storyline and no real threat this time. Guardians didn't even have a purpose until last 30-40 mins of the movie. The whole 'guardians getting chased by the Sovereign because **you know** (spoiler)' wad pretty lame too and stretched a lot. Didn't like the last fight either.

Its kinds sad because I absolutely loved GotG 1 and I usually enjoy all marvel movies.

I enjoyed it more than first one, but then again, i didn't love the first one. Overall, it was entertaining, but that is about it. Story was filler and meh, pretty much like every Marvel movie.

The opening sequence was most impressive and innovative in recent times.Movie is character driven. There is a good balance between emotional scenes and comedy.I liked how it dealt with Peter's parentage. Also it answers a lot of questions from the first part. Even Yondu was great in this movie.I don't think there is any other blockbuster franchise right now that feels this much refreshing and fun. Other studios couldn't even properly establish well known superheros on the big screen.

Can't even explain how ironic this is coming from your mouth. Ask anyone who doesn't have a hardon for marvel all the time and he will tell you that stories in marvel movies are indeed meh. Not everyone posts this :majesty: after watching marvel movies.

Marvel stories are actually meh. But their whole universe is set on an awesome story line which began from Iron man 1 and will conclude in Infinity War. That alone is quite an unprecedented achievement. How many movies are connected like this? 15? I don't think this has ever been done before. Only Star Wars has something like this. The vision from Marvel or whoever decided to go this route was very daring. Frankly this is how comic book movies should be made, they should be interconnected like actual comics. Too bad Marvel f**ked it up slightly by selling rights to different companies like Fox, Sony etc. They needed money to survive then so not their fault. At least Spider-man is onboard now.

Now DC owns rights to everything they have, but they are playing catch-up and hence the movies seem rushed.

Agree to everything. Edited by Sach4life

Also most of these superheros were unknown to non comic book readers. The way they managed to establish these characters is seriously an achievement.A decade back no one ever thought that a Guardians of the Galaxy or AntMan movie was possible.
