Tyler Posted May 21, 2017 Report Share Posted May 21, 2017 (edited) Remakes are OK as long as they do something that sets them apart and aren't a shot for shot adaptation without missing what was great about the original. Plus they need to be good movies on their own. The Departed worked because it changed the setting which brought a very different feel to a familiar story. Not to mention the cast was excellent. The Thing (John Carpenter's version) is a remake but has a bigger following than the original because the direction and practical effects were insanely good. The 90s version of Psycho didn't work because all they did was copy the original shot for shot without adding or changing anything. The Total Recall remake was crap because they strayed too far and missed what made the original so great, it was too serious and they removed the entire Mars element. Hrithik ka fan bangaya hai hum.....so wish he gets these kind of roles . The guy is genuinely very good actor and this is starting to believe much more now. The bad guy basically sets up events such that the woman the protagonist falls in love with (and sleeps with) is actually his own daughter. The reason for doing all of that is because the protagonist had caught the villain committing incest with his sister while in school and spread the news around.
