Tyler
@Billy, Equilibrium's plot wafer thin? Did we watch the same movie? The movie has some pretty solid writing. Many things don't make sense but then suspension of disbelief is vital to enjoy sci-fi. It's amazing what they did with such a low budget. It's a shame Kurt Wimmer went on to make Ultraviolet after this... @DAA... the Star Movies version is horribly butchered. The corridor shootout is cut by 30 seconds and so is much of the sword fight after that. Edited May 2, 2009 by Tyler

Tyler
^^ Nope. But you can check out Neil Marshall's follow up flick Doomsday. Nothing like Descent but a fun movie nevertheless!
dabba
Just saw "The Descent"... Yes that's the movie. But if you watch carefully the movie is a lot more than just spelunking girls getting attacked by creatures. There are many theories about the existence of the creatures and that they were never there . It's not exactly in my top 10 or even top 20 but it's a well made horror film. I liked how unrelenting the movie felt.
Keyofx
Neil Marshall = Dog Soldiers. End of. He's making this period Romans-in-the-UK flick now. I forget what the name is but the promo stills looks VERY good.
Keyofx
Thanks for the heads up. I had seen the trailer for this a while ago and totally forgot about it. Didnt even know this was "out". Don't bother. I just wasted my post dinner relax time watching it. What a let down.
Bird Bird Bird
There is a sequel for "The Descent" ? Apparently, its gonna be out this year.. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1073105/ is this the same movie whr a group of gals go spelunking n then get chased by some zombie/bat creature?? if yes then it is one of those crappy movies i have seen.... wasted hours of my life... Its a well made horror movie... Esp. liked the Cloverfield-esque Infrared view... Also the ending left a lot of room for a sequel... hopefully should be better than the 1st.. Nemo
EQUILIBRIM is pretty epic. one of the poster boys for Indie/low budget movies. Bale is the best leading actor rite now IMO. He is so freaking good. I like him to the extant of having a man crush over him . Maybe its because I am a bat-fan, but anyhoo his delivery style is pretty darn awesome. He can play any role.. annnny role, Hell he can play me in my life, I'd just be content sitting on a fence and watching the story unfold quietly. Keyofx
Depends on what ending you saw. The US ending was different because the lobotomised advance screening audiences couldn't stomach the original version. Brazil all over again.
Ne0
Watched a couple more movies 1. X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Cool. Nice. Pretty cool action sequences and SFX. Definitely worth a watch. 2. The machinist - Although the movie is a bit predictable, Bale's performance is amazing. I was like when I saw him in the movie. Later I read that Bale starved for 4 months to lose weight for his role in this movie. Just look how he looks , man, the guy is sheer genius. @Tyler, I meant 'wafer thin' as in story. The screenplay is tight , no doubt about it. But the story - you can sum it up in 2 lines. But nevertheless its a good movie. @DAA, no I didn't watch it on star movies :) Edited May 2, 2009 by ..Billy..
Snake
Equilibrium plot is wafer thin, guess i have been watching the wrong movie.....its one of the best movies i've seen "But I, being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softly because you tread on my dreams" Nuff said Also The Descent is a totally cool movie...its a kinda "WTF is going on" type of movie....are the monsters real?? or is she hallucinating and she capped all the others?? The laugh of her daughter turning into a screech..hhmm??? @dabba: dude i think u have mistaken this movie with another movie with the same theme..the girls in this movie go on a diving expedition and not spelunking!!! Snake
Yeah...atleast they dont show the gruesome chow time of those creatures in Uncharted!!! WTF EDIT:Actress Megan Fox has laughed off rumours she is to portray comic book heroine Wonder Woman in a movie - vowing never to play such a "lame" character. Director Joss Whedon is rumoured to be putting together a cast for an upcoming big screen outing for the superhero siren, originally played by Lynda Carter in the 1970s TV show. Fox is reportedly in the running to play the lead role, but the Transformer star is adamant she will not get involved with the comic book adaptation. She tells British magazine FHM, "She's lame. She flies around in an invisible jet, but she's not invisible. I don't get it." Edited May 2, 2009 by Snake
