Abd then Zack Snyder happened in dcu

Zack Snyder made superman's action sequences watchable, not just watchable he made it look badass in MOS. A character whose action sequences (specially that laser light from his eyes) were embarrassing to watch in earlier movies. Don't like this character much but Zack made me watch superman movies. Give this man some credit.

And not discussing this anymore. Not gonna fall for this bait.

And tomorrow is ABD's day.

Alright back from Wonder Woman. It's certainly the most well rounded of all the DCEU movies and I personally enjoyed it quite a lot. The movie does falter a little during the third act which I felt was somewhat drawn out. However the first two acts are very enjoyable and full of great moments both on the action and character front. Gal Gadot was really good and definitely looks the part. Her acting has certainly come a long way. I think she's best during lighter scenes but struggles during emotional ones. She was completely badass during the action moments though. Chris Pine was also very good (which he usually is) and had some great lines. Really liked the chemistry between him and Gal. The action scenes are great but the CGI is very obvious (and not very good) during some parts.

So yeah, overall it's very watchable and I'd put it in the same league as Doctor Strange, X-Men: Days of the Future Past, Ant-Man etc and it is definitely above stuff like Cap TFA and Thor. However it didn't make me go "oh I wanna see it again!" right after the credits rolled so there's that. It's great that DCEU finally has a movie that will appeal to a larger audience and I'm certainly looking forward to seeing Gal Gadot again in Justice League. Also the fact that we finally have a great female led superhero movie makes me happy. The overwhelmingly positive RT is somewhat puzzling though, I mean it's a good movie but let's face it, it isn't in the same league as TDK.

The WW theme is awesome btw and is very sensibly (and sparingly) used. The score overall is pretty nice, a little overbearing at times but worked for the movie.

Some spoiler thoughts (read only if you've already watched or don't care about spoilers)

The Themiscyra portion of the movie was very well done and looked amazing. The Amazons were f**king badass and the battle between them and the Germans was very cool. It was like a bloodless version of 300.

For an origin movie it moved quite fast in the first two acts.

The entire conversation between Steve and Diana on the boat went on for longer than necessary. It was already established that it was an awkward situation but then they went and hammered it in. Could have been shortened a bit.

Loved all the fish out of water scenes in London and Gal was quite adorable here. Wish they did more with it though. Then again, it might have ruined the pacing.

The part where Wonder Woman steps out of the trenches in full costume got the most cheers and rightfully so. It was a badass sequence that ends with WW taking out a sniper nest by literally smashing into it.

The third act is where the pacing falls flat and the final battle is unnecessarily long. It also didn't help that a British thespian like David Thewlis is playing the God Of War Ares. I mean he's a good actor (and I was actually surprised by the reveal) but it's a bit funny when you see WW fighting Professor Lupin who's just waving his arms around and throwing debris at her. It gets a little better once he gets all armored up. The entire ending fight also wasn't edited as well as the other action scenes. It seemed like the German soldiers were completely unaware of the super-powered battle going on right next to them.

The whole huge plane of death that someone must sacrifice themselves to destroy is all too familiar and very similar to Captain America: The First Avenger. Even the guy's name is Steve.

I liked that apart from a small mention of a certain someone the movie doesn't try to shoehorn in other DC stuff. It's very firmly focused on WW's story. There's not even a post-credits scene.

Yeah thought so that it shouldn't be as bad as Thor and Captain TFA let alone between those two crapola movies. As long as movie is somewhere between Captain America Civil War and BvS, I should be happy.

Back from Baywatch. I went because the trailers looked fun, and I absolutely loved Horrible Bosses, both of 'em. This one's fun too, sexy, and a good one time watch. However, even after labelling the movie 'A', there are senseless cuts, illogical mutes, etc. Eg: they muted "boobs" but not "f**k". I mean, WTF! They even straight up removed scenes which were a part of the trailers!

On the plus side, the women look great, Priyanka has upped her desire quotient (that green dress mmmwah <3) and there's gratuitous display of assets. ;) I expected some hooting for her but the crowd was mostly dead. Also, I think she has the highest screen time of any female in the film.
This is one of those "get high and watch" movies, in a similar vein to Horrible Bosses, though not nearly as funny, and I'd love to watch again uncut.

Those two 'crap' movies are 80% and 77% on RT

I watched it last night too. Yes the reading were a little too high, perhaps hyping it up more than required. It's a good movie, like a Marvel good movie rather than a DC movie. However, not that I'd watch it on screen again.

Of course can't compare with the greats like Dark Knight.

The reason why I stopped getting to the adult reading movies here in India. Most of the explicit consent is being cut and it loses the fun aspect of the film. The last one I was really disappointed with was Deadpool. Was only satisfied after watching these unrated edition.

As far as I know, in order to have a positive RT score, a movie only has to be good and not exceptional.

So 97 percent RT score only means that WW is good and worth a watch.

Why is it so surprising?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are right. Positive RT means the critic liked the movie. Even, let's say, a 7/10 fulfills that criteria.

And yep, Wonder Woman is a good one time watch. Did feel a bit dragged out in places but all in all, a good movie. Also, Gal Gadot haters can suck it. :P
