Star Lord Posted June 4, 2017 Report Share Posted June 4, 2017 (edited) The action choreography turned out to be everything that i'd hoped for. I enjoyed the movie for the first 40 minutes, roughly. But that was it. Yup the first half was really great IMO. True... and Firefly. Still the MCU is a much bigger cultural phenomenon. I never would have thought characters like Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy would one day become household names. I'm really excited about the Whedon Batgirl movie (if it actually happens). Exactly.A decade back who would have thought we will ever get a Guardians or Ant-Man movie.While reading Doctor Strange:Master of the Mystic Arts back in early 2000s I never even imagined all those Magic, Duels,Blast Power,Phasing,Time Manipulation and Astral Projection from the comics could ever be properly shown in a film. Movie looked great in 3D but it wasn't amazing 3D experience like GOTG 2 or Kong. It seems 3D was post production 3D instead of actual 3D. Archit was right, when he said it's a strictly one time watch super hero movie. I liked it but it's still not the best DCU movie. For me The Dark Knight is still best DCU movie. Movie fails in action and special effects department compared to MoS and BvS, but overall it's a much better movie in terms of pacing, story and performance. Maybe civil war was slightly more enjoyable because there was more action, but WW was very enjoyable too. Good job by Patty jenkins. Really, this should have been the first DCEU film after the Superman one. Could have laid some good foundation. Only weak points for me were the guy who played the villain wasn't commanding enough, for that role you need a bigger presence or maybe someone younger. And the action sequences weren't filmed that well. The Snyder trademarked slo-mo to normal speed cuts dont do much for me and the editing of the fighting itself was very choppy. Good clean wide angle shots with long takes is how it should be done. But to be honest, not a lot of Hollywood films do action sequences well (which is why John Wick was f**king phenomenal) so that fault doesnt just lie with WW. Fun film to watch otherwise.
