Aftrunner
^^I am so glad, those were hilarious. Saw the film. It was pretty good. Tom Holland is a fantastic Spiderman, probably the best although I really like Garfield as well. All the IronMan scenes were fantastic too. The Vulture was good villain and the supporting cast did their job well. All in all, a really solid film. My only real complain was that the action scenes are all garbage. The final fight on the plane is almost impossible to follow. The editing is incredibly bad (jump cuts one after the other) and the camera work is horrible. What makes it even worse is that I am 80% sure that fight is all CGI and they still f**ked it up by useless editing and shoddy composition. I genuinely dont understand why big budget Hollywood/Comic book films cant do fight scenes right. Especially these films that take hundreds of millions of dollars to make and market. They have all the money in the world and access to the best talent. Their heroes are young guys and physically fit. And still 90% of the action looks like absolute dogshit. It is either shitty editing, jump cuts and horrible framing like the this or Nolan's Batman. Or cartoony looking CGI ish garbage like Snyder's stuff. They cant do the basic stuff right. And it is even more annoying when films with 1/10 of their budget and actors that are older than most comic book guys deliver incredible scenes in films like Wick. Pay someone if you cant do it yourself. Just f**king get your sh*t together already. Edited July 13, 2017 by Aftrunner

People who enjoyed first two will watch this one and the rest probably has no idea about the series. Spiderman is fresh and coming after years. Hence a lot of hype. Plus, marketing and MARVEL banner helps.

Perhaps no other superhero series has been rebooted as much as spidey in recent times, almost 3 reboots under 15 years ! I
Heaven Angel
Well, fresh or not, their target audience is below 15. The kids probably never heard of Raimi's Spiderman movies or seen it. Amazing Spiderman was terrible to remember. So it works for Spiderman. Cannot really compare with War for the Planet of the Apes or another movie with superhero movies. Even a crappy superhero movie will be hyped and outsell most good movies. The marketing is ace!
playstationdude
I hope Sony makes a lot of money on this spiderman movie, so that they allow other spidermam properties(carnage, venom, goblin) to exist in the MCU. Perhaps even fox would take notice and allow wolverine /deadpool in MCU. Hugh Jackman has already said he would return as Wolverine provided he exists in MCU. Would love to see that happen. Also, agree on the marketing front , spidey reboots have been doing well thanks largely of that incessant in-your-face marketing from Sony ! Anyway, I'm more looking forward to the PS4 spidey game than this movie ....

Those movies feel kinda dated now. Despite being a reboot, Homecoming is one of the most fresh take on superhero genre in a long time. The current Apes series is also a reboot.War of the apes is the 9th Apes movie. Gautam
POTA will do just fine. The reviews are spectacular and people still have a lot of goodwill carrying on from the last movie. I know many friends who've skipped Spider-man (so have I) but are excited for POTA
