Big Boss
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/aug/01/indian-african-dunkirk-history-whitewash-attitudes Quote To do so, it erases the Royal Indian Army Services Corp companies, which were not only on the beach, but tasked with transporting supplies over terrain that was inaccessible for the British Expeditionary Force’s motorised transport companies. It also ignores the fact that by 1938, lascars – mostly from South Asia and East Africa – counted for one of four crewmen on British merchant vessels, and thus participated in large numbers in the evacuation. But Nolan’s erasures are not limited to the British. The French army deployed at Dunkirk included soldiers from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and other colonies, and in substantial numbers. Some non-white faces are visible in one crowd scene, but that’s it. The film forgets the racialised pecking order that determined life and death for both British and French colonial troops at Dunkirk and after it. Quote This is important, firstly, because it is a matter of factual accuracy in what purports to be an historical portrayal – and also because it was the colonial troops who were crucial in averting absolute catastrophe for the allies. It is also important because, more than history books and school lessons, popular culture shapes and informs our imagination not only of the past, but of our present and future. Nolan should have stuck to creating a fictional narrative which was themed after Dunkirk rather than trying to half a*s an historical attempt. Whitewashing a historical event is pathetic. Aftrunner
Its a multi million dollar movie. They aint letting brown folk anywhere close to a camera. Set probably had posters of "You must be this white to have the camera point at you." all over the place. Sorta related, I wish Nolan would go back to smaller budget films that he was doing before the Batman stuff. His big budget films arent bad, they just arent at the same level as his old stuff. Star Lord
James Bond 25 title and villain details reportedly revealed Quote With Daniel Craig's return as James Bond seemingly confirmed, fresh rumours are surfacing about what to expect from the next instalment in the British film series. According to The Mirror, Bond will be journeying to Croatia for a film based on the 2001 novel Never Dream of Dying by Raymond Benson, the author being Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day. A source said: “Bond scriptwriters feel it could be the perfect follow-up to Spectre. They are hoping to film in Croatia next year.” In the running to replace Sam Mendes as director following Skyfall and Spectre are Yann Demange ('71), David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water) and Arrival's Denis Villenueve whose Blade Runner sequel arrives in cinemas this October. It was revealed last month that producer Barbara Broccoli was "determined" to bring back Adele to record another Bond theme following her Oscar-winning lead track for Skyfall. Bond 25 is scheduled to arrive in cinema November 2019.

Big Boss
Bruce Willis has done some terrible movies in past 5-6 years. His last good movie was Unbreakable? Or was it Looper? Looper was average but it was not straight to DVD garbage like what he has done in past few years. A man's gotta eat though.
Heaven Angel
Wills gave up long ago. He doesn't care anymore and does movies only for money. Every previous director attached (Stallone, Joe Carnahan, Aharon Keshales & Navot Papushado) to this movie has left due to creative differences. It has been in the development hell for like a decade. Joe Carnahan's email to the studio head after dropping out of the project: You had a potential Oscar-winning film with maybe the best script in Hollywood but because you're a coward and a dumb c*nt you now have an untested, second-time director and an arrogant, lazy, aging action star that will run that poor kid into the ground. Good luck, a**hole. You're a spineless, gutless turd who doesn't belong in the business. Enjoy your run as a 'studio head,' Glickman. It's going to be a short one. Fυck you, Joe Carnahan. There just has never been much celebrating for that particular part of Indian history. It is (understandably) hard to acknowledge the fact that hundreds of thousands of Indian troops fought and died for an occupying country. We dont really deify soldiers for their bravery. We pretend that we do but its never really true. Wars, the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers, the glory etc are sold only and only on Patriotism. What do you do when the patriotism doesn't exist? 15 hours ago, Big Boss said: Bruce Willis has done some terrible movies in past 5-6 years. His last good movie was Unbreakable? Or was it Looper? But yeah, I cant think of any other good films he has done for like a decade, maybe more. Even the new Die Hards were sub par. Maybe it is karma. He is apparently a bitch to work with.
