Seriously, Characters in their movies have a ton of personality unlike the poor caricatures in a formulaic Ice Age or Madagascar. Even the Pixar desklamp would pass a VK test. Would it make a lick of sense to me? Of course. You don't need to know much about the original series to enjoy the movie. But if you did, it would only make the experience better. He was actually Blacklash for a while before taking the moniker Whiplash. Yep, its a movie worth watching, whether you're a trekky or not, cos it rewrites Star Trek canon, you don't need to know the full history of ST until now.
