He really lets them have it. The human actors are in a witless sitcom part of the time, and lot of the rest of their time is spent running in slo-mo away from explosions, although--hello!--you can't outrun an explosion. They also make speeches like this one by John Turturro: "Oh, no! The machine is buried in the pyramid! If they turn it on, it will destroy the sun! Not on my watch!" ROFLMAO. Everyone(?) knows how I feel about this movie, but Ebert's review is way over the top even for me. He just isn't nerd friendly. Robots shouldn't fist fight now? Please.. I love G.I. Joe and I'm gonna support the movie unless it has zero redeeming qualities. Either way, Sienna Miller in the Baroness' costume is worth the price of admission alone. stfu noob.. Street fighter is my all time fav guilty pleasure. Such awesome lines in that movie. "Your a*s is 4 months overdue Bison.. and ITS MIIIINNNEEE..!!" - Guile/vandamme plus the whole movie is really fun. AS for GI Joe, Some movies look bad and then surprise you. Other movies look bad and are as bad as they look. And then there are movies that look bad and surprise you because they are worst than they look. I guess GI Joe is number 3. My childhood was spent in comics and GI Joes. I feel a part of it is being raped after watching that trailer. moreover my fav character Flint is not there. I am glad that he doesnt try to sugar coat his brand of cinema with half assed stories. HE actually stays true to what he knows best.. big a*s explosions and crazy special effects with just about enough story to get from A to B. If i want to watch story i will see some Martin scorsese, but sometimes all you need is just to sit back and watch metal pounding metal with awesome metal music in background.. and by god Transformers Fallen will nail it. Jus bigger, badder robots and like nemo said. a plotline to get you through all this. The funniest part is giving the big decepticon metal balls. I mean WTF Dogs humping shoes, humping other dogs. They were like living breathing people and after watching the first movie, felt that it was kinda dry. Starscream v/s Megatron, the legends of Cybertron, etc.. none of that comes out in the film. I am yet to see it but everyone is saying its as good as the first one. and crank is better than most oscar material movies. I mean jason "badass" statham bashes up people wearing a gown and having an erection.. what not to love ?? Yeah but I remember animated Transformers had an excellent story. Still, will give the 2nd movie a chance.. yaar. i too did watch a lot of transformers toons. But think of it, cartoons have the luxury of multiple episodes, year long seasons. They can make good gripping stories and put action pretty nicely, best example is batman TAS, hands down the best cartoon series ever. People go to summer blockbusters for fun.
