RUMOUR : Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton to play Kane & Lynch

From Ars Technica

_________________________________________________________________________

The Times Online is running a story about the upcoming Kane & Lynch feature film, suggesting that Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton are being considered for the title roles.

The Times Online piece—which reads more like something E! or TMZ would have written—neither claims to be reporting definitive information, nor does it name any sources. It simply states, "Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton are said to be in the running to play Kane and Lynch." I'm curious as to who it was that "said" that. For all anyone knows, it was something Jimmy mentioned in the break room last Thursday.

According to the same piece, Michael Bay has also signed on to produce the film. This, too, is conjecture at best. File this one under "definitely still a rumor," right along with Marvel Universe Online's demise.

I may not believe everything I read, but I will go far enough to say that Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton would be excellent casting for a Kane & Lynch film, and this certainly seems like something Michael Bay would be involved in. More details to follow as they firm up (or don't).

Ben's Thoughts

While Mr. Neuls may be taking this with as big of a grain of salt as I've ever seen, I only have this to say: I would see this rumored film. Oh, yes.

^^ I think that is a H-U-G-E rumour considering the fact that Kane & Lynch is not exactly a blockbuster game. Also the casting seems too good to be true for a video game movie. But if it does happen... then it should kick major a*s! You cannot go wrong with Bruce "the baddest mofo in Hollywood" Willis...

well, except for Armageddon

Knight Rider being remade ??

From Entertainment Weekly

____________________________________________________

A 'Knight' to Remember

Throwbacks are the new comeback — at least, that seems to be the motto at NBC these days. On the same day that its Bionic Woman remake drew nearly 14 million viewers in its first airing, the network announced plans to raid its vault again with a reboot of Knight Rider, the '80s series about a hunky police officer (David Hasselhoff) who chases down perps with the help of a talking car named KITT.

''Our goal is to preserve the comedic adventure and fun from the show,'' says Doug Liman, who will exec-produce and possibly direct the project, which is being developed as a TV movie slated to air this season. (If it's successful, it could become a series next year.) Liman adds that the tone will fall somewhere between two of the hit movies he's directed — the dead-serious Bourne Identity and the lightweight action romp Mr. & Mrs. Smith. And borrowing from another hit revamp, the new-and-improved KITT will morph, Transformers-style.

While '80s-themed projects are capitalizing on a current wave of nostalgia, Liman says Rider was itching to be remade because it's ''the Shakespeare of our generation'' — yes, he really said that — ''a primal story that can be told over and over.'' From a network standpoint, adds NBC Entertainment co-chairman Marc Graboff, ''You get a built-in awareness.'' And as for the original Knight himself? Asked about a possible Hasselhoff cameo, Liman teases: ''I'm interested in honoring television history in any way that I can."

AWARD WINNING STAR TREK HOME THEATRE

From Slashfilm

Someone thought it would be a good idea to model their home theater after the Enterprise NCC-1701D from Star Trek: The Next Generation. The result is super geeky, but actually rather cool. Named the best theme theater installation at CEDIA 2007, this Palm Beach County, FL home features motion-activated air-lock doors with series sound effects, and a “Red Alert” button on the Crestron TPMC-10 controller to turn all of the LEDs bright red and flashing. The system also features “one of the largest Kaleidescape hard-drive based storage systems” ever created, amassing eight servers with 3,816 DVDs.

Four Justice League of America Casting Confirmations Arrive Early

From Firstshowing.net

________________________________________________________________________

Warner Brothers is expected to officially announce the cast of George Miller's Justice League of America in the coming week, most likely at Wizard World in Texas. However, multiple websites including IESB and AICN are reporting a few names so far, most of which have been confirmed by numerous sources, although it would be wise to still take all of this as a rumor. It looks like Justice League is finally really getting underway and things are on the move, which may be a bad thing. I almost don't want this to get started, but why not get it over with quicker. So who are the youngsters that have been cast?

Not all of them are young, but it's obvious that the story within this Justice League is focusing on younger heroes with a very young cast. Without further ado, here are the casting announcements that should have official confirmation arriving very soon.

Adam Brody (In the Land of Women, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, "The O.C.") will play The Flash / Wally West.

Rapper Common (Smokin’ Aces, American Gangster, Wanted) will play Green Lantern / John Stewart.

Scott Porter (Music & Lyrics, Speed Racer, TV's "Friday Night Lights") will play Superman / Clark Kent.

Teresa Palmer (The Grudge 2, December Boys) will play Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of Ra's Al Ghul.

We're all familiar with Superman, so no need for extra explanation on him. Talia Al Ghul is the the daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, who you may remember from Batman Begins. Ra's was played by Liam Neeson and was the one who tried to destroy Gotham City. In the Justice League world, Ra's was introcued in the "Tower of Babel" storyline and is one of the major villains of the DC comics universe. Talia is described as "not quite heroine nor villainess but more of an anti-hero" and is also a love interest of Batman.

Wally West is the human identity of The Flash, a superhero with incredible super-speed abilities, including breaking certain laws of physics and time travel. The Flash was originally introduced in 1940 and has had four different character versions, the original being Jay Garrick. Wedding Crashers’ David Dobkin is directing a spin-off movie (it's not confirmed that it's a direct spin-off) following Justice League, and he's already made it known that he's choosing the Wally West version.

The Green Lantern, one of the most popular superheroes amongst comic book fans, possesses a power ring that gives the user great control over the physical world. The character was originally introduced in 1940 and like The Flash, also has a spin-off movie in the works under director Greg Berlanti. The Green Lantern's power is only limited by the bearer's imagination and willpower.

We'll bring you the news the moment it drops on the remainder of the cast and whatever other details are released. With that, I think it's time to go revisit that Justice League vs Avengers article. What do you think now, is Justice League looking any better?

I've always liked the Talia Al Ghul character. And the actress aint so bad looking either
