No hyperbole. agreed. last year was Wall.E and this year is Up. that good? cz.. i kinda skimped on going.. seriously - don't. take Wall.E - retain the cuteness, add a dash of grumpiness and maturity, a whole lot of action, quite a bit more humour, tone down the music a bit - you got Up. it's unbelievably good I watched it in 3d as well. The '3d' part of it is more of a gimmick. It's underused and underwhelming wherever it is used. Also I was really hyped about the movie after reading the reviews, but when I actually watched it, I somehow didn't get it. It was beautiful and funny with lovable characters but overall I left the theater disappointed. I had brought up this point earlier in this thread about Pixar movies and how I didn't enjoy the recent installments. Having said that I recently watched Wall-E again and I liked it much more than I did the first time. So, maybe I need to watch Up again to get a better perspective to all the hype and praise. Up is not a kiddy movie. Going with that perspective changes a lot. Up is a very mature movie about relationships - watch it imagining that there's Jack Nicholson and Emma Thomson - you'll enjoy it a lot more. It would still be a comedy drama I guess. The other day I saw an article in Google news, Imran Khan tweeted once "Damn my xbox died, wanna play the new batman game". It was 4 of us who went, the wives essentially wanted to see it (esp after i took them to 9 and D-9); after abt half hour we seriously contemplated switching screens to catch Wanted; but we held out in the hope that it would get better. Alas.. ---------- oh and one scene from "all the best"'s trailer.. theres a car flying in the air.. driver jumps out of the window as.. get this.. another car flies from behind tearing the original car in two from the middle and goes through the first one.. phew.. Completely bowled over Pixar's creativity. The story is so moving and brilliant. I would recommend this movie to everyone. Please do yourself a favour and go watch this beauty. Mindblowing!
