Mark Webb ((500) Days Of Summer) will direct the new Spider-Man trilogy.

Private life of Peter Parker.... no thanks.

(500) Days Of Summer is a beautiful film about modern romances. Very well made without getting too emo. I liked it more than I like to admit or maybe it was the rum.

I don't know, just think of your exes and watch it alone. Presented in non linear fashion, what starts out as guilty pleasure transcends to moving cinema.

That said, your experience may vary. I wouldn't recommend it if you haven't been in a long relationship filled with gloomy and glorious moments with someone who you thought was the one.

its a chick flick

Told entirely from the guy's point of view with generous doses of male sentiment, it's actually more of a d*ck flick, but definitely not the Judd Apatow kind.

Atleast someone has good taste in the movies here. As far as second point goes, couldn't agree more, especially if you have experienced the slow frustrating disconnect in a long term relationship, you could relate with the events in the movie really well.

Mark Webb's Spiderman could be better than Sam Raimi's, I hope.

Watched 3 Idiots. Failed to understand the hype :fear:

no offence, but this doesn't come close to the magic of the Munnabhai franchise IMHO

Aamir Khan hats off to you though... For judging what exactly the movie-going junta likes. Maybe i expected too much or the hype killed it like they say for for PA.

Saw Sherlock Holmes today. More of an action flick, but I really liked it a lot. And the main theme is awesome too!

What I didn't like was the fact that Robert Downey himself spoke in a bit too deep a voice, though he gets the accent out properly.

whaaaaa :fear:

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

@The usual bunch: Please do give this little film a watch.

While it might sound like it would be perfect for a proper cannibal horror movie Van Diemen's Land is anything but. What it is though is a powerful drama about a group of men facing death on both sides of the coin and having to chose which way to go. It just happens that they chose to eat each other.

Aside from great performances from the cast, which many perform largely in Gaelic, the surroundings are one of the most stunning things about it, captured perfectly by cinematographer Ellery Ryan. The lack of "sound" and minimal score also helps to capture the isolation of these characters trapped in a wide open prison. The vastness of the thing is almost overwhelming.

The film is deliberately paced as well, taking its time telling the story and getting to know those on the menu. If Terence Malick ever made a cannibal movie this would be it.

This a wonderful film by a first time feature director and is certainly someone to keep an eye on in the future.
