Also.. Raajneeti..worth a watch? Help out a broke bloke people. Wouldn't want to waste any resource for now :wOOtjumpy:

yup, if you like the genre you'll like the movie. Just don't expect any reality from it, it is not based on any person or any event.

Rajneeti is good. Just like the name Rajneeti it is totally based on politics. So, if you like this genre watch it. And no it is not based on reality but its good

Rajneeti worth a watch if you have a slight interest in politics but still i would say GO FOR IT!

Politics!!!! seriously, where the hell do you find CM nomination being changed 5 times for any party. It was hardly any politics. Real politicians never use any gun themselves. Dumbs!!!!! :fogug:

And for the love of god, why the hell were there so many cliches in the movie? felt like cocktail of mahabharat and sarkar!!

How can you expect someone to say "tum mere kokh se nikle jyestha putra ho" type dailog, and then use the typical hindi movie dailog "ghar aa jao beta!!", both in same scene!

And then again, all the speeches delivered felt so wrong at so many levels. Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai and Nana were good as usual, but all those other actors were not even trying to act. ranvir and katrina specially felt totally out of place in the whole movie. Also, script felt like it has been changed at multiple occasions to appeal to rickshaw-walas. dailogs were actually re-interpreted to use proper Hindi words, instead of the commonly used words. No politician talk like the way they depicted, well apart from possibly atal bihari vajpayee ji.

In all, definitely not worth your money. People in the theater were actually laughing at senti scenes for using so many cliches, atleast in multiplexes.

Yeah some parts feel like they are out of a Lynch film rather than something Scorsese would do. And I love the look of the film, the lush color palette. It looks absolutely gorgeous.

OK watched Rajneeti today. And I've mixed feelings about the movie.

The movie is certainly very good compared to the kind of crap bollwyood is throwing at us like housefull or blue. For the uninitiated, this is prakash jha's version of Mahabharata with some events from Godfather mixed in. Actually there are quiet a lot of stuff borrowed from Godfather series. The movie starts very well, and is gripping till the intermission, filled with political intrigue. The second half however becomes more of a vengeance drama than a political drama, and this is when the movie becomes entirely predictable and loses steam.

As far as performances go, Manoj Bajpai has done a fantastic job of playing the new-age duryodhan. Ranbir kapoor excels too in the role of arjun/michael corleone. Katrina kaif has a role of a total 15 mins. So if anyone is going for that reason alone, you've been informed well in advance :majesty:

Overall, I would give the movie - 8/10.

Prince of Persia : 5/10

The movie was very average. I left the theatre feeling a little incomplete, or that the story didnt speak enough, as it should have. Everything seemed rushed. The story wasnt explained too well. The Sands Of Time concept needed more time in explanation than it actually got. Towards the end, I kind of felt it was botched. The editing was slightly off the mark, too. There was no chemistry between any of the lead actors. Nothing was happening, how normal people would actually react to the same situation. It seemed so incredibly rushed.

The Hassassins reminded me of the Ring Wraiths(Nazgul). Everything they did, from their clothes to their job, to the way they speak, was like the Nazgul. Their story should have been explained better.

Having said all that. The movie has far exceeded what I expected it to be when they first announced they were making a POP movie. They've pulled it off pretty ok. Jake Gylenhall and Alfred Molina were brilliant. Kingsley was good. Gemma Arterton was hot, but acted like turd.

Finally saw Shutter Island. Absolutely loved it and DiCaprio is phenomenal in it.

+1000

Watched it last night. Finally, a really good psychological mindf**k after a long time. The atmosphere was brilliantly creepy throughout the movie. Leo is officially the best actor in Hollywood at the moment. He's awesome in pretty much every movie he has done.

BTW the musical score reminded me of Hitchcock.
