Guillermo del Toro Writing/Producing New 'Van Helsing' Film

on’t run away. We all know how atrocious Stephen Sommers’ 2004 take on Van Helsing was. Now get ready for something completely different.

Pajiba is reporting that Universal Pictures is developing a brand spanking new Van Helsing movie “based upon the same fictional vampire hunter character from Bram Stoker’s Dracula.”

After just stepping down from The Hobbit it is reported that Guillermo del Toro will be producing and writing the new treatment “described as an action horror story.”

This is just one of his many, many projects. He already tackled vampires with Blade II as well as his recent novel The Strain and wouldn’t mind seeing him do a new Van Helsing film. I’d doubt he would direct it, but at least we would have a strong script.

The only good Hollywood-produced Jackie Chan movie was the first Rush Hour. I didn't like any other Hollywood movie he's been in. His Asian stuff is ace though. That sh*t never gets old.

WORD, on both counts, though the first shanghai with owen wilson was neat too but nothing but nothing comes closer to police story, armor of the god, city hunter.. etc .etc

Interview with the Director of the MK short movie.

-They shot the short film over two days on two RED cameras

-Started in early April and it took 2 months to do the post production. Most people donated their time. The short was made for $7,500

-Knew if he was going to get a chance at a genre picture, he’d have to show he could do it on his own. This is a calling card for a chance at making the next Mortal Kombat feature film and it’s his vision for how he’d do it.

-No one at any studio knew he was doing the short

-Oren Uziel wrote the short. He’s currently attached to write the next Mortal Kombat movie at Warner Bros.

-Says he wants to make a movie that balances the real world with the mysticism and the special powers. Compares it to the way Harry Potter exists in two worlds. As in there are two universes that coexist with each other.

-Confirms “fatalities” are definitely in his movie. He wants to put them in the tournament in an “organic way”

-Definitely would use “get over here” (the classic line from the game)

-Michael Jai White plays Jax Briggs in the short and he’d definitely be a part of the feature.

-Says Scorpion is the bad guy and will stay a bad guy

-They only had 4 hours to shoot the big fight scene

They interviewed Matt Mullins (who plays Johnny Cage)..nice interview, saying he's a gamer; listing Chrono Trigger as his favorite RPG..and that he has been playing Uncharted 2.

He also reveals that Richard Dorton played Reptile

Watched Rajneeti Yesterday........ the way film plot has amalgamated Mahabharat and parts of Godfather is amazing. really loved it , but some 1 else should have played the role of ranbir kapoor, this dhaccan should be act only in love movies and stuff. Ajay Devgan was awesome as always, but his role could have been a little more fleshed, and Manoj Bajpai was absolutely brilliant, back to his Satya and Shool days.

Next on the line, Prince of persia and robin hood

yeah thts true, and i liked the way it was incorporated together in the film. Katrinas role is highly overhyped. its Manoj who should get stream of awards. even in the limited screen time all the actors had, he made his presence felt hugely.
