arun360
Oscars don't mean jack anyways - Kubrick never won one, neither did Hitchcock, Scorcese finally won for one of his lesser movies.. bah.
Keyofx
Exactly what I was going to say. Awards are rarely fair. I'm really digging this years best director oscar nominations though. Some of my favorite indie directors are on the list (PTA and the Coens)! If only they'd added James Gray as well... MarketTantrik
^^ I watched "The Nines" a few weeks ago. Interesting movie, but RR was brilliant, especially in the role of a Hollywood scriptwriter.

STICK3Rboy
http://christian-bale.org/?p=425 New ‘The Dark Knight’ Trailer in March Now, I know what you’re thinking: But, we’ve only recently had a Dark Knight trailer. I know, but, according to DarkHorizons, Warner Bros’ isn’t holding back. Things are more rosy on The Dark Knight front though as the next trailer for the film, this one featuring more Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) and Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) is rumored to be premiering on March 7th. March is always a big month for trailers, as the month usually sports at least one or two early tentpoles. With a competitive summer to look forward to, one can only wonder what other films out there will try to slip in a preview before next month closes out. ______________________________________________________
Tyler
Makes sense, since the first trailer was pretty much all about The Joker...
MarketTantrik
Just watched "Renaissance" Highly recommended The movie is visually captivating thanks to its "Sin City"esque visual style and the story is quite interesting. @Tyler: I can lend you the HD-DVD if you want to watch it. MarketTantrik
Just watched Terminator 2 : Judgment Day (Director's Cut) on HD-DVD. Man this movie is still DA BOMB after all these years. The Director's Cut has quite a few extra scenes which are not included in the theatrical release. Including one scene between Michael Biehn (who plays Kyle Reese in the first movie) and Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) which is touching. Poor bastard didnt even make the credits in the theatrical release 'cause they cut the whole scene out . The HD transfer is stellar and is definitely THE version of the movie to own (whether on HD-DVD or Blu Ray). T2, still holding on to that number 1 rank in my list after all these years

Dude! I've been dying to watch it. I always keep forgetting about it! PMing you my address... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Watched Jumper last week. Decent flick but I wasn't exactly blown away. Pretty much everything about the movie had a "been there, done that" feel to it. Take one part Spider-Man, some Bourne Identity, mix with X-Men and add a sprinkle of Da Vinci Code... and you'll get Jumper. Still, the movie has a good pace, a hot chick, decent action sequences and Sam Jackson, so it's worth a watch. Just don't expect anything revolutionary. The ending has multiple sequels written all over it. I hope they add something original to the sequels... I'm still waiting for a breakthrough sci-fi/action flick. T2 did it in 1990, The Matrix again in 1999. It's about time we got another one of those flicks which changes the way we look at this genre.
