Watched "The Expendables" today.. Don't know so many people are calling it crap.. not like people don't lap up other crap these days. This was meant to be out and out action with a thin story line, and it does that job well despite some spots with questionable CG, and it brings together so many contemporary action stars. Great guest appearances by Bruce Willis and Arnie

Not quite the A-Team, but yes an enjoyable movie nonetheless

saw Dabaang. good solid stuff. pretty much got what i expected. Loud, unapologetic entertainer having its own take on the laws of physics. fight scenes were copied from a variety of sources- the inevitable matrix torso/knee bend, transporter, sherlock holmes, but it was awesome fun. also no one but no one could have pulled the role like salman khan did, suited him to a T. Really really liked it.

go watch it :good: just dont expect some groundbreaking soul defining stuff (i dont understand how anyone could, but just in case..)

win movie :D :D

^^Thats good to know, most people who have seen it seem to like it so far.

Question is now, 3D or non 3D? :|

3D 3D 3D 3D!!!!! Seriously... it's THAT good. Screw Avatar, this is the most kickass 3D experience I've ever had! You can tell that the movie was shot with 3D in mind.

Say what you wanna say about Paul W S Anderson, he knows how to make a super slick action movie. The story isn't anything different from the previous flicks (but still better than I expected) and there are some things that are just plain cringeworthy... like how Alice and Claire manage to find make up and look hot while the entire world lies in ruins or like how automatic weapons never run out of ammo or need reloading. But then again if you're looking for logic this is the wrong movie. If you wanna watch some cool Matrix-inspired action scenes and hot girls kicking a*s, blood splattered on your 3D goggles, then it goesn't get any better than this.

There were a lot of things lifted straight from the RE5 game and they worked quite well in the movie. Wentworth Miller was pretty good as Chris Redfield... too bad Chris is mostly a secondary character here. Even the guy who plays Wesker did a good job. And don't start walking out while the credits start to roll. There is a scene after the first section of credits featuring an important character.

Special credit to the fitting soundtrack by Tomandandy. And they even used the A Perfect Circle song (from the trailer) during a key sequence.

I had a lot of fun watching the movie and I'm probably gonna watch a couple of times more.

PS: Opening credits scene reminded me of Ninja Blade... more than any Resident Evil game.

Finally saw the trailer for Aronofsky's Black Swan.

THIS IS SATOSHI KON'S PERFECT BLUE. Except with a ballet dancer instead of a J-pop idol. Kon is the anime director who passed on a couple of weeks ago.

It isn't a coincidence if you know how big a fan Aronofsky was of Kon, and the fact that he owns the western right to a Perfect Blue remake. In fact, you'll notice two scenes in Requiem for a Dream exactly as they originally were in Perfect Blue. Its just a shame he wasn't credited in some way in this film.

Edit: Looks like a few users on IMDB picked up on how similar it is, too.

Dabangg rocks. I went in with very very low expectations but this is a full paisa wasool entertainer. Everything is over the top. Even the funny scenes are funny. Salman Khan is awesome. Seems he rolled back about 10 years.

Highly recommend watching it.

OMG I was just gonna point out the exact same thing.

Not really but Perfect Blue sounded like an interesting watch and here is a little tidbit I found on the films IMDB page -

Darren Aronofsky owns the American filming rights to this movie, which he purchased for $59,000, just so he could film the now infamous "bath scene" with Jennifer Connelly in his own film Requiem for a Dream (2000). The staged rape scene in Perfect Blue (1998) also inspired a scene toward the end of Aronofsky's film in which a group of perverted men circle around and cheer on a vulgar sexual event.

Edit And there you go. PB is now on my list. I quite look forward to coming back here and telling you how much it sucked a*s. :)
