^^ Not this sh*t again. Paranormal activity was the most boring movie I ever saw. And now they're making a sequel? :scarerun:

They could have atleast named it something imaginative.. like abnormal activity or something :P

'Lack of activity' would be a more appropriate name since the only thing the movie shows is a couple sleeping.

Just got back from Endhiran. *beep* you haters, you can die in a fire. Or a headshot from Chitti.

This.

Back from Robot and i thoroughly enjoyed it. second half is a bit weak compared to the first mainly thanks to the extra songs but the climax, OH MY GOD.... THE CLIMAX will make you laugh and scream at the same time. VFX are very good given the minuscule budget they had to work and at moments are as good as they come. they did a smart thing by using animatronics for the robot and not going all CG on it which makes a huge difference. the CG sequences are decent but nowhere near the top list hollywood movies. the director also deserves full credit for not ripping out hollywood SFX sequences are repeating it with rajni like most other VFX heavy indian movies do. they are original, highly imaginative and the execution at most times is flawless.

Worth a watch.

AND

The movie kicks all kinds of a*s. What, with enough scifi movie+videogame references, a decent plot, awesome graphics, and Rajini in a negative role... wait, why is that listed as a + ? A true Rajini fan knows that Rajini was more brilliant as a villain than a hero. Yeah I am one of them- a closet Rajini fan. I'm out now. I love him to bits.

Back to Endhiran. There's this scene when the robot is introduced to an audience of scientists, someone asks him what the largest prime number is and he makes some calculations, displays a number and says, "this is the largest prime number, unfortunately it'll take you a few years to verify if that's correct". I was thrown back to my beginner programming days and mersenne primes. There are many such moments. It isn't dumbed down for the know-it-all critics while at the same time it plays to the front benchers with some fillers and songs sprinkled at regular intervals which is the only complaint I can make. That sh*t slows the pace of the movie, but hey you gotta pander to the masses to make some money.

As a Rajini movie it breaks all cliches. Absolutely no 'Rajini'isms. There is no """"intro scene"""" or """"intro song"""". And absolutely no """punch dialogues""! gasp!. The human Rajini cannot fight 20 guys. Or even one guy.

The movie pays homage to Asimov's robots, scifi, superheroes (rescuing people from burning building, fight on train).. Oh f**k it, if you like rajini or robots or indian scifi(like mr.india?) or just the spectacle of movies in general, you owe it to yourself to watch this.

Thank god you're not one of those Rajini worshippers ... phew

Anyway, some idiots on my Facebook friends list hyping this up to the level of "itz equal ta Hollywood". Someone should point out that the Human Centipede is a Hollywood movie as well

It isn't :D

And there's no reason a movie should be bad just because you don't agree with it thematically.

Really didnt like Millers crossing. Coen brothers are so massively overrated. The only half decent film they have done is The Big Lebowski.

/Waits for Keyo.

Edit Ncfom was all right though. :|

Ah, so someone finally realized it's actually Dutch.. I wonder how people here missed it till now

Even if it was English, not all English is Hollywood.

Look at the studios, not the language ;)

That was me accepting that it's not a Hollywood movie.. :P Yes, I do realize that

not all English is Hollywood

I meant "dutch" as in "from the netherlands" not "dutch language".

Few ardent Rajni fans I know told me "first half was awesome, second half 'mokka' (boring) ".

The second half drags a bit owing to the fillers yes, but the evil robots and the climax appear in the 2nd half, so I don't know what to say about your ardent Rajini fan friends.

Seriously, why don't you watch the movie for yourself and provide an honest review?

Yes, but how? :P

How early did you book 'em?

It's embarassing. Well, since online booking enables the internetenabled fans to skip the camping out at theatres the night before the box office opens, I've been refreshing INOX and PVR websites since the release date was announced.

In case you haven't caught this already Keyo, I watched Frozen(2010) recently. It's a short delicious little survival horror that'd whet your appetite for stronger stuff on a movie night.

I don't really like Rajini's movies all that much. Yeah, I'll probably watch it a few weeks later.

this is hardly a 'Rajni' movie. there is hardly any signature Rajni moves in the film at all, at least from the human Rajni. we folks just went for the lulz and to see how badly the 180 Cr budget was spent. All of us returned with our minds blown and jaws dropped, the VFX in the movie is head and shoulders above anything you'll see in an indian movie. Apart from that the sequences themselves were very creative, the devi scene in particular was a stroke of genius and given the small budget its a miracle that they pulled off that climax. It was also good to see the director let go of his matrix styled slo mo 360 degree camera sequences he used to shove down our throats in his last few movies.
