^^ It was one of Tarantino's early films....it was sort of an indie movie (not too sure of this) ! And even the movie is very low budget....most of the movie takes place in a worn-out warehouse !

But u will be put off if you don't like Tarantino's style of eclectic dialogues and stuff. Narration is mostly dialogue based. I myself was bored when I watched it the first time !

^^ IIRC, actually the whole of kaante's first half is excluded in Reservoir Dogs !

coz first part of kaante was usual suspects. i remember watching kaante becoz it was supposed to be a copy of RD, and then the first scene in the jail starts and I go - "Hold on! this is usual suspects - down to the placement of the characters in re to each other!" the interrogation is the same as well.

Cheers.

^^ Yes it was. But it completely missed the point! Kaante was mix of Usual Suspects and Reservoir Dogs...

Anyway, watched 10,000 BC last night. Average movie. It's basically Apocalypto minus the gore plus some prehistoric creatures and big budget VFX. The story is basically the same. While Apocalypto was fast paced and visceral, this movie is a bore and just drags on. The beginning is great (the mammoth hunting scene was awesome and the scene with the carnivorous birds was great as well) but it just loses steam halfway through. More characters are introduced and there's some "prophecy" crap going on throughout. The entire second act is boring, nothing happens for the most part. Even the ending was disappointing considering the build up. The entire climax lasts for about 10 minutes. And there's one scene which is exactly like 300.

I won't even comment on the historical accuracy of the time period the movie is set in because there isn't any (what's Roland Emmerich's obsession with the pyramids?). It's purely a popcorn flick. Also, the prehistoric creatures which are all over the advertising and posters are barely there. The movie also needed more action. On a positive note, the VFX work was top notch, sets are huge and the production values are great. But then again it's exactly the same as Emmerich's previous films (Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, ID4).

It was a good decision by WB to release this movie now than in summer. It wouldn't have stood a chance otherwise.

Go watch Apocalypto instead...
