Why do they realize it then that they are not alone? I mean, megatron and his cronies have been on earth since the 19th century and President Hoover found out about these aliens in 1913 anyway. I am not a fan of the original TF universe, so I didn't have any references or benchmarks. Although I agree , the 2nd movie was a pile of turd. Coincidentally I watched the second movie again yesterday cos I was bored. I must agree it's not quite the most intelligent movie, but big robot porn + explosions + US Army + US Airforce + experimental weapons = OMG awesome action movie... And I love it. Besides I love the way the Camaro looks, so that's an added bonus. The story, well.. that's secondary really. Yes, I'm a fan of the Transformers from a long time ago, but I'm not really "ashamed" of the way the movies are going or anything. The f**k is this Alien wannabe bullshit? Don't worry you'll still have all of the former too.... Can't imagine a Michael Bay movie without such nonsense in it. Those who want 'pure' transformers can still catch that in the comics. Read this interview of Michael Bay. Pretty lengthy, but a few points I picked up from it. 1. At the outset, he has himself admitted he fked up with the 2nd movie. 2. It wont be shot in 2D and converted to 3D later on. They've used 3D cameras and have shot the movie in 3D itself (80% of it) 3. The guys who did Avatar (Industrial Light and Magic) were hired for this movie. 4. Bay's said he's gonna keep this movie dork free and free of the inane humor of the 1st two. He's making these more serious. 5. The last film transformer film in this storyline. He says he might not do a 4th and maybe the current cast also wont return for a fourth. Seeing all the corrective steps he's taking after the debacle (not financially tho) of the 2nd, I have a feeling, they might just make a decently entertaining film. It's a shame animated movies are thought of as kiddy movies but these are simply superb - Cars, Toy Story, Incredibles, Monsters Inc, Up, and my favourite of the new crop, Wall-E. Cars is by far the worst movie ever made by Pixar closely followed by a bugs life. Wall-E had a terrific first half but the moment he lands on the space ship the movie just spirals downwards, same with UP. come to think of it, most of Pixar's movie have a very weak second half compared to the first. It didnt have much of a storyline, infact, it was wafer thin. Plus, transformers is about the transformers, they made it about the humans. If you want to please the fans of an incredible cartoon series, stick to the formula that worked. They shouldnt have made a real life film, instead stuck to a cartoon transformers movie. Also, I thought Megan Fox is one of the most overrated females on this planet. Im sure if you were an avid watched of the original 80s cartoon, you wouldnt have liked the movie. My friend had all the cartoons recorded on VHS when he was in the US. Enjoyed the previous TF movies, 2 more than 1, primarily bcoz of the badass explosions & action, and I hope TF3 features more of them on the MOOOOOONNN ! This is why i liked the first 2 movies. As he said , story has become a secondary concern now.
