Shantz
well, sony has been doing this for a long time... I know because last year I bought a DS3, which looked every bit like original including packing etc, but it was giving some problem in fluidity of analog controls.. I was thinking it was just a bad piece and then on updating a firmware it stopped working..then i found out it was because it was a fake controller.. And I support Sony in this because this reduces the fake manufactuers' profits and so there are lesser chances of us getting cheated like I lost 2k bucks on that fake controller.. Edit: Zodak, it's not "scandisk" ffs.. it's "sandisk"...........................................................................................unless you are using a fake USB drive
Right
^ I have no problem with them banning the imitations, I'm against banning the peripherals which are working perfectly, like those adapters. And seriously, stop this weekly f/w upgrade business, upgrade once in a six month. Learn to hold it or wet your pants, but no bathroom pass every half-an-hr! I think those adapters stopped working because of their companies' own mistake. They certainly wouldn't have licensed the thing from Sony and were masquerading as normal DS3s. Now, PS3 doesn't have a mechanism to see that they are really not fake DS3s but adapters and so would have been disabled. If Sony was really going against third party and unlicensed controllers, then a lot of them wouldn't work, including the cheapo PC controllers that are still being reported to be working. I guess the only ones that are not working are which claimed to PS3 that they are original DS3s but weren't. You can't fault sony for that and should actually be asking the controller company for a refund for cheating you.
