Awesome buy bro i enquired this TV last week in bangalore it costs 92k here :lol: omg i am on to it.. pls tell ur experience with tv.. both + -, i wanna buy this badly FULL HD 1080P :P

if the tv costs 92k in bangalore with bill and warranty then go for it blindly as i feel its a good buy and plus ur gona get upto 10k reduction on the price in exchange for ur old tv depending on the condition and screen size and stuff....i exchanged my old philips 29inch crt tv and got 5k less on the purchase.

the pros;

full hd 1080p

cost

the display is amazing while playing games on it..........i was playing uncharted for hours and was blown away with the quality.

its got anynet function which links up your samsung dvd player,music system,home theatre with just one remote.

few keys in the remote light up if needed like the volume keys and channel changing keys and few others like mute and tv,dvd and stuff.

the cons;

bass shy audio.....really lacks the punch when it comes to the bravias.

the display quality is better if you buy a full hd sony bravia for example a sony klv40w300a.....the reason is ive seen them both side by side and believe me the black levels and the picture quality on the w series made the mosel blaque look a lot inferior......the bravia also has 100 hertz motion flow whereas the mosel blaque lacks it.

the lcdtv is too glossy for comfort if you have a window directly opposite the tv or a light source then you can easily see the reflections on the panel.....in my case i have none of these problems as the light source is directly above the tv and the window is to the left.

the stand of this tv is huuuuge and it might cover up all the space left in your tv stand......luckily for me i bought a vanguard wallmount and got the tv wallmounted and now that the behemoth stand aint there i have the convenience of keeping my ps3 beneath the tv.

well lastly its upto you to decide my friend.....if you want a genuine advice then id recommend you to buy a sony bravia klv40w300a costing 1,08,000 if you insist on a 1080p full hd or if you fall a bit short on the moolah then you can opt for this tv as i feel this is the only tv thats second to the sony bravia when it comes to display quality and the pricing.

another point,..honestly if your looking for a 40inch dont go for the 1080p mate it really doesnt make any difference depending on your veiwing distance......id suggest you to buy the sony klv40d300a as its better than the v series coz its got 1 extra hdmi and its a 10bit panel(v too is a 10 bit panel) with 100 hertz motion flow(v doesnt have this feature) and it also accepts the 1080p full hd signal just like the v series does.

hope ive answered most of your queries and if i have confused you more then you can look into the plasma vs lcdtv section and post your questions and im sure most of the gi's in here will gladly help you like they did to me.

cheers

Dude, give R&C a shot. As i've said in many a post...any game where you can turn hordes of enemies into penguins is total win in my book. As for AC and UT3, well they're acquired tastes to be honest. Army of Two is sweet and so is Burnout Paradise.

With all the feedback I'm seeing , R&C certainly looks like its a top game.... and looks like it has some awesome graphics...and the reviews say that too....just that I'm not a big fan of the kind of characters I see in the screenshots...no offence to anyone ...but I like what I see on AC and Army Of Two. Burnout ...I have no doubts as Ive played it on the PS2...and UT3 again on the PC..hence the inclination :wOOtjumpy:

Please, try (at least 2 levels) before buying. It looks good but the gameplay (at least for me) was repetitive. And it has bugs galore too (like innocent bystanders walking through you as you kill off a target with a dagger).

Sure thing, mate...I will try AC before spending any money getting it...Thanks for the tip :D

@Maverik...If Im not mistaken, The XPS 1530 has a customization option to include a Blu-Ray drive..did you take that?

Also, with the XPS series, It is advisable to go for the 7200 rpm HDDs than the 5400 rom ones to take advantage of the processing power of this machine...Not sure if 250 GB option is available with 7200 & 5400 ...Having managed Dell Tech Support in the not so distant past, I'm told there are HDD failure issues with the 5400 disks...few cases...but there all the same.

Other than that, its a super machine... I have played with a few and the XPS laptops are awesome at most games .. I have personally tried FEAR & Far Cry and they work flawlessly ( Crysis not included...but then most desktops have trouble handling Crysis at medium to full settings )

Cheers.

Doesnt that add-on cost upward of INR 25,000/- ?

Yes...It does...but it makes your laptop future proof... And dont forget, the drive can burn Blu-Rays too , and is well worth the upgrade. IMO, its much like comparing a standalone Blu-Ray player which will cost roughly the same as a PS3...but the PS3 adds more value as it can do much more than just play BDs. So a laptop that can run Windows, PC Games, read/write Blu-Rays ... is good value indeed. :gunsmilie:
