Cos 42 inch was too small I bought it, didn't get it free... same goes for the speakers. No prizes for guessing the trailer running. How big is your room? Do they sound ok if you are at a distance of about 6-8 feet? My living room is 15 ft x 12ft. The sound is more than enough and the bass I really have to turn down. There is a little bit of distortion only if you turn it to disco-DJ-you-can-only-see-people's-mouths-move-but-can't-hear-them levels but not much for usual ear-splitting sound. Very good speakers for the price I paid (like $70 + tax on Amazon). Goddamn sales tax is 9.5% here, but no state income tax in WA so I'll let that slide. I can hear the speakers at normal volume even in the bedroom which is past the bathroom and a small corridor. They have RCA inputs too, not just 3.5mm (but no optical). I have a little powered optical converter box (bought it for $25) for that purpose. But the Xbox has RCA out so no problems there, so too the Xfinity cable box. Anyway, I usually have the speakers at 1/3rd volume. which TV ? -- 47LM6690 ? It's actually the non-smart version - the 47LM 4600/4700 - since I don't need any of the smart functions (have the Xbox and other devices for that). It still plays whatever you plug in via USB.
