Chaztin Posted September 6, 2008 Report Share Posted September 6, 2008 DVD? Meh!!   Oh you can you can - 720p (HD) vs DVD - there are differences. And in a movie like LOTR - drooooooool   I had PotC1-2,Spiderman1-3, Casino Royale on DVD and I had been watching them on my 32" Sony lcd vseries. But then I double dipped n got them on blu-ray. i can easily tell the diff from miles away.  well chaz i beg to differ there is a huge difference between the picture quality and yes it is just not few pixels.... the sharpness and the crispness in the picture is amazing though in the same breath lemme add all the dvd upscalers including PS3 will show a dvd also in a really good way...   The LoTR trilogy is not out on blu-ray yet, right?   +1 in agreement. And while i am the Blu Ranger HSP's biggest anti-fan i'd have to say you're wrong. The difference is there even on old flicks like Ghost in the Shell. Blu ray movies look waaaaaay clearer. And this is on a 19" widescreen monitor and a 26" HDTV.   No.Not yet....   duhThere is a huge amount of difference between 720p and DVD. The resolution is different and you can see artifacts in dvd pretty easily on HD screen   DVD is generally 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL). HD starts at 720p, so... there is difference. The difference will show up in any screen which can support 720 and up resolution.   Oh i can, btw PM'ing you my shipping address .  ^^ Chill  That was for Bluranger who was mehhing on LOTR DVD...discouraging sm1 who spent 2k on smthing he liked that I had to say that.
