5t is from the HPI stable only.

EDIT: read your post properly. guess you know this.

5-10% no they aren't.

take the 5b rtr v1 for example. it retails for $789 in america =~ Rs 41000

the HPI distributers here in India sell it for ~Rs70000

@gurpreet: the cost of the baja you mentioned is the cost in the US. If you have it shipped, unless you decide to carry a 30kg 4 ft long box on the flight(which you will have to pay excess baggage for) this is the break up.

Baja 5b rtr - 789

shipping - minimum 380 max 410 (cheapest shipping option)

Customs duty - min 33% max 35%

without customs duty it works out to 1180 usd ie Rs 60000.

So the official indian baja 5b isnt that expesive considering it has a 2 yr warranty and comes with a bill (12.5% vat and octroi 5.5%) and full customs duty paid.

i know the breakup. i also know that the deal we are getting is good. but i mean, come on guys you can get one for singapore for rs55000 max.

isn't that an option more people would consider. there are 4 bajas in india that i know of and all are from singapore.

moreover warranty isn't an issue with the baja since there have been very few instances of problems reported as of now.

think about it.

EDIT: there is this guy by the name of Sunil who is a reputed person in the RC field in India. he even has his own forum and an online store

and recently became the Traxxas Distributor in India. As of now he has a revo3.3 and a tmaxx3.3 going 31,900 and 27,999 respectively.

and as compared to the HPI distributors, the prices in my opinion are cheaper.

Sorry Sam if I went a little OT but this RC thingy always gets me a liitle charged up.

@ gurpreet: My point is that the price in india is very competitve. There are over 30 baja owners in india.

BTW traxxas is not officially availabe in india. They are grey market imports. AFAIK these were passenger units with no warranty.

if you need any more clarification plz PM as this thread is going OT.

I had made RC bots in my college time and never have I seen something move so fast and turn so sharp  the balance, the shockers on that thing are brillant :O

It probably a mix of differential and normal steering. Its still one mean monster of a car :O, and I am pretty sure that its worth every penny.
