Is Watchmen hardbound as well?

I never got what was so great about The killing joke. It was a very predictable, very dull story, nothing clever about it. And aside from that one flashback of the Joker there is nothing outstanding about any of the characters. The artwork was barely average at best.

really? The Killing Joke is the one story which defines Batman's character and his relationship with Joker better than any other novel. Batman and Gordon will go by the book in the face of extreme anarchy because that's what they stand for. And Batman will never kill Joker, and Joker doesn't trust the world to be sane, and he wants to bring anarchy. I thought getting such a message across in such a short story arc was brilliant. Also, I liked the artwork with all the vibrant colours - it suits the mood of the novel.

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

OT: Oh please dont come up with the dialogues of the movie. During the entire movie i felt like pulling the mask of that freak and yelling at him, Chris Tucker style, "DO YOU SPEAKA THE ENGLISH???" :wOOtjumpy:

^IMO it did.

But many liked it, its on Top250 on IMDB and has rating of 8.2, but still its very mediocre movie, actually really bad. I mean Wachowskis did Matrix, then things started going downhill, and hit the nadir with this.

Anyway, enough OT

ooh!! forgot that dialog :P

Imo when i watched V for Vendetta a few years back, i thought it was just alright and wasn't too great but re-watching it made a lot of difference so i feel you need a certain level of age to get a grip of the movie, i think Pol. Sc. made a difference since this movie was discussed quite exhaustively. Can't wait for The Watchmen in 1080p being played in the projector in the class :P

Enough with OT i guess

the book is on a separate scale - it's an excellent commentary on the political scenario. imagine a more action oriented 1984 with Robin Hood thrown in the middle. the movie is meh to the book

^^ Hehe. Here is a bigger heresy. I thought the graphic novel was mediocre at best.

/Exits in a hail of fanboy abuse.

who are you and what have you done with afty / keyo?
