Hhmm.. nintendo needs to revamp their digital gaming policies.

Totally. One of the major concerns with buying games from eshop. This wretched system in which the games are tied to the console makes me think twice before buying a game from eshop if its already available on retail.

Newbie here, want a lot of clarification:

1) What's thje recoomended place to buy a 3DS in India

2) Warranty?

3) I've read above that it's region-locked, so where should I get the games from as the games here are expensive (4k for pokemon x, me shivers)

4) How often are 3DS prone to problems?

I've found some seller on rediff selling an XL for 17k but has the specs for the original 3DS.

Any other advice? :fear:

@abhinit90

1.Go for flipkart or game4u

2.Not sure whats type of warranty they offer heard its 6 month for flipkart...

3.Yes games r region locked again check local dealers and see what region of game they have in stock. Also flipkart sells the NTSC region games and console while game4u sells the Pal version of the console and game...

4.I havent faced any major problem but my cartridge socket has become a bit rusty have to eject the catridge by pressinf on both sides instead of just the middle part...

I would suggest go for the 3ds xl instead of the 3ds bigger screen is always a positive :)

1) grey market is best and cheap u can get 3ds xl for 15k plus game , flipkart without game is 23k or any authorized store

2) warranty si pretty useless .6 month dealer warranty , which is useless

3) in india we get 3ds games and console of usa version i.e ntsc u

4) its pretty solid , i have not heard much problem.

try grey market rather than flipkart or any online seller

^ u need to use Candian or Brazil eshop. If you are trying with US eshop, then ur credit card address needs to be from US.

Dont worry, u shud get back the refund in about a week to fortnight(as in my case).

Maximuscards will charge some 2-3$ fees....maybe more. Best is to visit the Canadian eshop....choose your region as Alberta.

No extra costs are involved, also the Canadian dollar is 59 while the US one is 61. You'll save 200-300 bucks

Anyone thinking of getting Resident Evil Revelations from the e-shop because of the limited discount? I am getting it and was excited about playing raid mode with someone else but it seems the online community in that game is not very active. So I would like to ask if anyone here is open to playing some co op in a weeks time or so?

Nintendo suspends Swapnote service, users abusing photo sharing features

Nintendo has suspended service of its 3DS messaging app, Swapnote, according to a notice on the company's website, stating that some users, including minors, have been using the app to exchange offensive material.

"Nintendo has learned that some consumers, including minors, have been exchanging their friend codes on Internet bulletin boards and then using Swapnote(known as Nintendo Letter Box in other regions) to exchange offensive material," the statement reads. "Nintendo has been investigating ways of preventing this and determined it is best to stop the SpotPass feature of Swapnote because it allows direct exchange of photos and was actively misused."

It's not a quite a trailer, and there's no way to know if it is actually gameplay, but if it is, IronFall for the 3DS is an impressive piece of tech.

The game takes some very obvious cues from Gears of War, but on a much smaller screen. The video showcases a third-person shooter with bulky armored soldiers, but you might not know it was a 3DS game without the handheld's frame embedded in the video.

The video promises 60 fps, impressive lighting, physics, and particle effects, detailed character models, and large buildings falling apart. We'll have to wait and see if the game lives up to the impressive tech shown in the video.

Developer VD-Dev has created some technically impressive and surprising game's on Nintendo's handhelds in the past, like a fully 3D versions of Stuntman and Driver 3 on the Game Boy Advance.

IronFall should be available spring 2014 on the 3DS.

With all these review embargo being lifted for PS4 titles , I don't think anyone would've cared for a Direct here. Yes , it was expected showcasing of announced titles like Bravely Default , ALBW , SM3DW and some really cool stuff like Miiverse on 3DS and Animal Crossing Plaza and other stamps , but a bomb was dropped.

UNIFIED ACCOUNTS , BITCHES!
