Sherry Jose
For the past 1 week, i am not able to connect to the MP arena of CODMW2. It connects rarely and then gets timed out I had to restart my modem some 10 times to get connected once:( I had to wait for around 1 hour in the game lobby and then it shows that the connection is disconnected from the PS network most of the times :X It always happen to me that the connection to the PS network gets disconnected more often. I am still not able to download the update content for Heavy Rain and GOW3 due to this disconnection problem. Any solution for this would be well appreciated ... snake-oo
I would recommend you put your ps3 ip address into the dmz of your router setting page under firewall. Give that a shot and let me know if it fixes the problem Sent from my iPhone 4 using Tapatalk

Sherry Jose
Sorry for replying so late on this post It was a tough thing to find the DMZ section in my router, even NAT was not available in my Nokia Siemens router, then had to use a link to update it. I have updated my PS3 ip address in my DMZ, but still there are disconnections, doesn't really seem to solve my problem Moreover, my PS3 ip also got changed after sometime. It was 192.168.1.4 for some time and then it changed to 192.168.1.2 later. So, is it like everytime i have to go to my router and update the IP Address in my DMZ. Even i might be wrong somewhere, correct me if iam
Noctis
First give your ps3 a static ip and dns - IP - [192.168.1.xyz] DNS - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 Now go to your router and forward the following ports for the ps3's ip TCP: 80, 443, 5223 UDP: 5223, 3478, 3479, 3658 Disable DMZ, you don't need it. Do the above and see if its still working. Also keep upnp enabled.
snake-oo
Like noctis says you need a set your ps3 in your router as a static ip, I had to do that. The way you find your ps3 on your router is to look for the Mac address of your ps3 which will be shown in the connected devices(depends on router) Dmz can be disabled if you want to use port forwarding but to me in my previous router it helped me to keep me connected all the time. I never used port forwarding because the main job of the dmz is to allow any connection through without the firewall blocking it(if I'm correct that is) but for that to work set your ps3 ip address as static. And check to see what your firewall setting is in your router, if on strict or high setting , turn it down to moderate or medium. High firewall setting cam cause connection issues aswell . If u think port forwarding helps your case then just use that and leave dmz. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sherry Jose
Let me put an end to this thread by telling what exactly i did, Things to do in PS3 : Go to Settings --> Network Settings --> Internet Connection Settings --> Custom --> Wireless ( in my case) --> Scan --> < Select Connection name here > --> WEP (in my case ) --> < Your WEP key > --> IP Address Setting --> Manual --> IP Address -> 192.168.1.XX ( Static IP set for PS3, XX can be our choice of number ) Subnet mask -> 255.255.255.0 Default IP Address -> 192.168.1.1 ( In my case, Router IP address ) Primary DNS -> 8.8.8.8 Secondary DNS -> 8.8.4.4 --> DHCP --> Do not set --> DNS Setting --> Automatic --> MTU --> Automatic --> Proxy Server --> Do not use --> UPNP --> Enable --> Test Connection ( Success in my case ) Now leave the PS3 alone and move to your Laptop or Desktop to make changes to your Router. Things to do in your Router : 1) Type http://192.168.1.1/scvrtsrv.cmd?action=view ( In my case, Router IP address ) in the browser of your choice, preferably IE. 2) Give the Username and password, usually it is "admin" for both. 3) Now you have a option to enter your selection, Select User Defined and give a description as PS3 (I gave it that way) 4) 5) Give your router IP address there, my case was 192.168.1.1 6) In External Packet, Port Start = 80, Port End = 80 and Protocol TCP. Internal Packet gets automatically filled. 7) In External Packet, Port Start = 443, Port End = 443 and Protocol TCP. 8) In External Packet, Port Start = 5223, Port End = 5223 and Protocol TCP. 9) In External Packet, Port Start = 5223, Port End = 5223 and Protocol UDP. 10) In External Packet, Port Start = 3478, Port End = 3478 and Protocol UDP. 11) In External Packet, Port Start = 3479, Port End = 3479 and Protocol UDP. 12) In External Packet, Port Start = 3658, Port End = 3658 and Protocol UDP. 13) Apply, Save & Reboot the modem. Now the settings in the modem has been configured Now, move to the PS3 and restart the PS3 system. Do a connection test, it should be successful. Start playing your favorite online games Hope this will help someone like me
