When buying a HDTV take care to see that u buy a 1080p model with more than 120Hz refresh rate. It will help u in the long run. :good:

120hz yes

1080p won't make much of a difference since the pixels size won't easily be distinguishable.

@OP: Btw just for teh heck of it, have you considered plasmas ?

^^ Awesome buy rahul

I would suggest the OP to also consider Sony Bravia NX500 32". Bought one in april this year for 43k... its the monolithic model...

jiggy bhai, howz the glare on that NX500? I was planning to pick up the 40" model but was advised against it by a few members on TE. They said the glare makes it look like a mirror..even when the TV is on...

Hi,

I am planning to buy a 32” LCD TV for using for PS3/Wii consoles. Any suggestion on the best suitable model for gaming would be of great help. My budget would be within 40K

Thanks,

Siva

If you want to get a 1080p makesure it's 40 inch or higher and I recommend a samsung brand.

toshiba 40" full HD for 40k at Vijay Sales..

One thing that I have noticed though.. I played UC2 on my sony 32 inch and gave my friend my copy for few days.. When i went over to his place and played UC2 on his samsung 32" lcd.. I could only say one thing.. His LCD sucked infront of mine as far as playing UC2 is concerned.. There is a very big difference in the picture quality.. UC2 looked dull on his samsung even after adjusting and tweaking the display settings..

well the Nx500 model was 2K more expensive than Ex400 and it got the glass protection in front..but what stopped me from buying that was the reflection..the wall opposite to my lcd had a tube light so could have suffered reflection straight into my eyes..thats why but yes features are same but got more protection..in case of Nx model..and yes always buy from a retailer or sony..they also provided me free sony headphones..

As rahul9 said, the reflection *is* there due to the glass front, but it isn't that bad that the tv becomes a mirror. Its just more noticeable because other lcd tvs do not reflect absolutely anything at all when switched off.

AS for the NX500 32", my personal opinion is it is brilliant. For gaming, movie watching.. It also doubles up as my computer monitor via an hdmi connection and i do not experience any eye-strain using it that way.
