There are many gamers who prefer spending 60$ on a COD game over GT5 lol....GT5 is hardcore racing simulator and COD is a n00b friendly shooter that anyone can play and enjoy.. that's why, i think, GT5 can't outsell COD in sales....lol Gears 3 delay reason is not Kz3... Gears is far bigger franchise than Killzone and also Kz3 is releasing in Feb not April lol....Where GT5 was releasing on Nov 2 and BO on 9th Nov... The targeted audience is difference. And GT5 can outsell BO. Keep in mind that WoW sold around 12 mil on all three platforms, which means less than 5 mil on the ps3 and thus less than GT5p (which was more or less an extended demo). I was wondering why they would release on nov 2nd and not on 15-23rd for that matter. Nov 3rd week is like peak shopping period here in US. If you launch a game during this week chances are that even some non gamers will also pick up the game, such is the euphoria during thanksgiving in US. Its like saying people who like FPS and people who like racing games are two distinct groups with little or no crossover when its probably quite the opposite. Its not like people who buy GT wont buy CoD or vice versa. As far as the delay is concerned TBH I cant think of any reason except wanting to avoid the CoD juggernaut. If the delay was game development related it wouldnt have been for 2-3 weeks, not this late in the development cycle. I am not doubting it wont sell. It will. A LOT. But going up against CoD would have cannibalized significant initial sales. There are a lot of people who would have bought one game and waited out the other one (esp people who arent hardcore fans but would have been buyers anyway). Sony thought that game might have been CoD. Makes sense to me. Also LOL @ people thinking its avoiding NFS. NFS is minor league. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
