Aftrunner
Ii will work. But why bother, its about the same price here and you wont have to worry about customs and warranty. There is no way customs will let a package that big through without hassles.
Noctis
It won't work out. You will have to pay around 10k customs, high shipping charges, no warranty etc.
wickedbl0ke
yup. it will work. but indian customs will ensure that it wont for you.
Solitaire
Unless you're having someone carry it in for you from another country, don't do it. It will land you with a fat customs duty. If you don't mind that, then order away cos it should work.

Some friends of mine have had even simple cellphones sent from abroad (one of them in an unmarked package even) held for nearly 2 months.

Solitaire
any suggestions then?? You need to have someone carry it into the country if you wish to import it. Else buy locally (hint hint: Warranty). Those're the only 2 choices that come to mind.

People have been waiting well over 2 1/2 months for their PS3s to get replaced. As long as you eventually get it replaced I'd say it is. For people with OOR PS3s like me, there is no recourse but to chuck the machine and get a whole new one. For me though, it was more a case of wanting to play BluRays from the US. Aftrunner
Thing about warranty is (regardless of how bad their customer service might be) its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. If its OOR and bricks your only two options are to pay some hack to mess about with it in a place like Palika or junk it. Neither is a pleasant alternative TBH.
