That and LG WebOS is miles ahead of Android TV.

Also, OLED at FALD pricing :wOOtjumpy:

My experience with webOS has been pretty shitty till date. I have an LG 3d led tv 42" (LG LF6500) since 2012 or 2013. The UI lags and freezes constantly for me. I can't switch HDMI ports as soon as i turn on the TV. Takes at least 8-10 seconds. And moving up and up the menu is laggy as hell. Asked LG serviceman to have a look at it too.....that guy as clueless as i was lol

I gave up later fixing the damn software issue as i anyways used to watch Netflix prime etc using my PS4 and hotstar /sony LIV using Chromecast.

The WiFi card just need a good cleanup. You just need to tell the engineer to unplug the network card from the mobo and clean off the dust, redo any cables that are crushed. Easy as that. I've been through this recently. I think I posted this in this very thread last month.

Old WebOS was shite. I didn't like it on an LG TV I bought in 2014.

But the recent updates have been nothing but extremely smooth and helpful.

As expected, the app sucks. Streaming quality is really bad

Actually yes thats one of the primary reasons I stick to the fire stick. Apps get routine updates and devs actually pay attention because of amazon's clout perhaps. With TV apps you never really know when a bug fix is even on the cards.

Ya the old webOS really does suck. I've seen the new tv models's webOS ...it's way better

Np just have him do it. Worst case the card's just gone bad. I was quoted 2.5 or 3k for it in case the issue reoccurs and replacement is the only solution.

LG made the right call by being an early adopter. They've been shipping with 2.1 since the time it came out and as a result the 2020 lineup has pretty much flawless HDMI 2.1 support. Atm LG is the only brand with next gen ready TVs.

Does this apply to the nanocell series as well, my oled purchase depends heavily on the price and how safe i can keep it currently.

So also looking at the new nanocell and qned models that will be shown for this year

Nanocell models aren't great for the price they charge. If you are looking at non-OLED models, better to stick to only Sony or Samsung as far as high end sets are concerned

Not launched in India, so not really concerned.

Heck, Hotstar f**ked me with a coupon activation. Activated VIP when I used a FK Premium coupon, and never responded to emails/tweets. So I said f**k it. No need to subscribe. Just go Jack Sparrow.

Yea, it's crazy. It's not available for my older LG 4K TV either despite it being a "higher-end" model from 3 years ago. So Hotstar just arbitrarily decided to support only the most recent LG TVs : /

This is where sideloading on Android TV would help. Or a Chromecast with Google TV once they launch those here.

Yep, was referring to it not being available on WebOS.

To be fair, SonyLiv is the only app which i can say sucks. Rest other apps work great.

This year's nanocell qned are using mini LED but i just hope they are going with VA panel instead of IPS.

Sony has destroyed the trust of many people who loved their products, they don't have working VRR on J-Series as well, that is also a planned update if and when it sees the light of day.

I'm hoping panasonic can do something like mini-led TVs they have excellent PQ, a decent OS with decent apps, also they just brought hdmi 2.1 gaming features to their JZ2000 oled series. If not sony then LG, Samsung and panasonic are go to LCD/LEDs.

Though if LG C1,B1 gives 3 year warranty on release here, tag me, PM me, I'll fukin buy it if i don't have a display till then.

Support on J series is out of the box, no update needed.

I think 2021 LG TVs will be very good but look out for Sony Google TVs as well, wait out till Oct 2021 and snag the better one up.

Can't wait that long man, need something by march, April when most TVs release, Also idk if i saw it in official sony video or FOMO mocking sony, but J-Series won't have VRR out of box, it too requires the so called update.
