Imagine someone telling us 15 years back that transparent TVs are the future.

Crazy.

All this advance tech doesn't benefit the daily home usage, they seem to have designed tech to wow but nothing ready to buy and wow the average buyer.

The number one thing all us gamers want is a 55 inch good quality gaming tv, the candidates up until now have been the same with 2021 names, considering how bad 2020 TVs were in one aspect or another, the manufactures need to release something that fills the hungry market.

Many off us have held our $$$ tightly just waiting for the releases, at least one big manufacturer other than sony should release any hdmi 2.1 TV.

All the tech of the future won't enter most of our homes for at least a few years.

Did china copyright consumer friendly technology [sarcasm] i wonder, the only ones ironically innovating for the consumer are them while all these big name companies do nothing for average buyers and keep on making costly TVs only big name footballers can buy on a weekly wage paycheck

Except LG CX/BX none can do VRR at 4k120 to some extent, 120 is gonna populate more games than expected, i''d rather be future proof at this point than go for 4k60

Also most 2020 samsung tvs even on hdmi 2.1 don't have a display signal of 4k120 that is a joke

120 fps is going to become more sparce with time. I don' t know from where you got this idea that its going to populate more. Heck, as games become more graphic intensive and more next gen, even 4k60 is going to be a rarity.

Actually I think 120 fps mode is here to stay. Since there is quite a bit of buffer in terms of resolution. With games defaulting to 4k these days, can very well drop to 1080p or 900p to increase the fps.

I strongly disagree but lets see. Eitherways, i would personally prefer 1440p or 4k at 60 fps instead of 900 or 1080p at 120 fps most of the times.

Anyways, I hope 60 fps becomes a thing now. After playing a bunch of 60 fps games on XSX, going back to 30 fps on RDR was kinda jarring. Although it didn't feel as bad in gears 2. I think maybe RDR has some frame pacing issues.

Also, VRR is kinda essential imo.

Yeah, our first demand/priority should be to normalize 60 fps before dreaming of 120 fps for majority of games.

You would feel most of the 30 fps games jarring after playing so many 60 fps games. 60 fps has to become a norm else I might not even buy games even if they have 10/10 score. It's a huge difference.

Yeah man. 30 fps feels jank as hell. Also, I thought 60 to 120 fps won't be noticeable. But I was playing Ori 2 and thought of giving 6k 60 fps mode a try after playing on 4k 120. Even 60 felt stuttering then. Same with Rocket League.

I kinda understand now the appeal of PCMR.

Yeah. I played on pc till 2017. Always made sure to play at 60 fps. Then switched to console gaming exclusively and adjusted to 30 fps. But back then I didn't feel much difference, maybe because my pc monitor was a 22 inch Bravia tv which didn't have great response time? Now I have ips monitor which has a game mode with 1 ms response time, so maybe that makes a difference. Next year I am definitely getting a 120 fps TV.

This, once you go 4k60, playing on 4k30 seems like slow mo+judder, once people experience 4k60 and some of the current games which are 4k120, 4k30 will be erased from development, and in couple of years we will have many displays which can do 4k120 and there are a bevy of 4k60 tvs out there already, 4k30 is DOA out of box IMO, after all i experienced 4k60 on a one x, i can just imagine how people on PS5 and XSX and PC are on cloud 9.

Going forward the display we use will be extremely important.

I think we are feeling the difference because of resolution, the clearer and crisper the 4k image, the easier to spot the dip in quality, on 1080p it might have been less noticeable with small screen size and low resolution. 4k is a different ball game altogether though as per reviewers say 8k isn't necessary thankfully, either way to notice a jump from 4k to 8k we'd need a 75 inch TV. So right now best get 55-65 4k120fps TV.

X90H owners check after 45m mark, and take robert zohn's [value electronics] reply with a grain of salt, still be aware of the whole VRR situation

Now another thing that comes out from the end of the video around 55m mark, is the mention of LG prestigious pinnacle program where you can get 90 days replacement for a defective LG TV and if you get a defect within 1 year warranty and if LG don't fix it within 5 days you get a new model from these lg prestigious pinnacle program dealers.

Robert says sony has a diamond dealer program similar to that of LG. So my question is to well informed people of the tech industry of india, do we have such dealers here, if yes who are they ? Can't seem to get direct google results on this matter

Robert is quite respectable and his history with such info. is quite good, so this does sound well. I anyway, shot a mail to Sony India and they said that they will definitely deliver on VRR and ALLM and if they don't, they will take up my request for a return. Let's see what happens

QQ guys

Noticing a lot of smudge marks on the screen. Do you guys use one of those lcd cleaner liquids on amazon or just a slightly moist micro fiber cloth?

Have one of those liquids but it's probably from 2012 so not sure if it's even safe to use now

Thanks bro. Yeah I think these marks could be from my previous misadventures with the cleaner liquid perhaps. Appreciate it.
