When its compared to a 5-6 yr old TV difference is very high. I have yet to upgrade my 10 yr old one. Waiting for this year's models to release.

True, try watching a good HDR version of Joker on it, won't be disappointed. My only gripe is that I want to save SDR and HDR settings as separate profiles for example I have custom values for SDR and some of those automatically change for HDR (baked in the software) while some don't play well with HDR content, so I have to change those manually back and forth.

Also, have you updated to the latest version i.e. 4k120fps one? If yes, did you experience any problems or issues like random on/off, clicking sound etc?

If your use case can accommodate an OLED then go for it otherwise x95J looks really tempting to me. Higher brightness and bettee PQ with HDMI2.1, good stuff unless Sony again decides to only bring in 75" model.

It doesn't cause the TV will be in living room which is bright plus regular DTH watching as well. If OLED was the case, would have got the CX itself last year. Sony is again going FALD this year. Wanna see how LG's mini LED is going to do. Samsung skipping DV again this year is just fail.

Not having DV is a deal breaker, whole industry is going forward with it and Netflix.

I never buy into the first iterations of a new technology if I can wait so not sure about Mini-LED but they will definitely save bunch of features for next year and keep price high.

The way x95G/x95H were reviewed, I am really interested in x95J.

Mini LED isn't anything new. TCL did it last year and it sold pretty well. Unfortunately, it didn't release in India cause they can't beat Samsung's marketing here.

Yes, updated. No issues so far. Only once there was a slicker on the screen where i got constant horizontal lines. A reboot fixed that.

My 2006 samsung bordeox lasted for 9 years i wonder if i can't go oled if i should go for Samsung again or do recent samsung TVs die as fast as sony ones.

Hmm, my SONY TVs all lasted for 8-10+ years. Even the last one I could have repaired it but figured might as well upgrade now. I'm still very hesitant to try any other brand when it comes to TV.

My TV usage is extremely low though. Apps only Youtube and Netflix.

TVs were fine the way they were back in the day. Adding "smartness" to them has made them more stupid.

Couldn't have put it any better

Well i would really like that to have happen to me as well but here is how most sony TVs die here in india

Mine had less bars but panel was dead, even my local electrician said many sony buyers said to have similar problem and not to buy a sony but still out of love for sony PQ i had bought the X90H only to face a headache of an issue posted here back in the day [now resolved]

So at least here in india i feel like avoiding sony now unless there is no option.

Hi guys, having failed to secure a PS5 pre order, I am now looking for a TV upgrade. I have 55 inch TCL P2 L55P2US 4K UHD purchased in mid 2018 when I bought my PS4 Pro. Sadly, only after buying did I find out that it had 8 bit HDR, so it turned out to be a dud for gaming.

I was looking at Sony X9000H and it seems to have good reviews for gaming. Is it the same as x90h that everyone keeps talking about? Would X9500H be better? Are there better options for a similar budget?

I would prefer 43 or 49 inch, but I can't seem to find any good alternatives.

Maybe I should just stick to my TV. Bug it is hard after having to played AC Valhalla etc for months on a monitor. My TV seems colourless and bland in comparison!

Edit: I have buyers lined up for my current TV, so I should be able to recover 20-25k of the cost.

Yes, x9000H is same as x90H. I own it and I am very pleased with it. For its price, the PQ is great. But I won't suggest getting it for anything more than 90-95k post cashback, it's too expensive for what it offers at that level.

I won't recommend x9500H from a gaming perspective because it doesn't have HDMI2.1, so you'll miss out on 4k 120 and VRR.

But at this price, I will recommend to go with LG CX if your use case isn't letting the TV run for hours for DTH.

49" TVs are just not feature rich, you'll have to get 55" atleast. Maybe if LG releases its new 48-49" OLEDs it might change but not for now.

If you can wait with your current TV, I will say wait it out till OCT, that's when the big discounts come in and snag either the new OLED from LG or Sony x9500J (all the goodness of x9500H with HDMI2.1). 2021 sets are the way to go.

But if you just can't wait and want to recover some capital then sell the tv and continue gaming on your monitor till OCT and if that is not doable then x9000H will suit you well (bargain hard).

Thanks a lot for the detailed response! What would be the exact model for the LG CX tv? I am a bit cautious since the TCL debacle where the wrong model number caused my wrong purchase.

But I guess waiting till festival season makes sense financially. I was thinking that maybe buying a relatively expensive TV would be easier before I get married (less objections likely from fiance than wife ;)), but that isn't a good enough reason when I have a TV that works, even if not all that well.
