Bump. How's the quality of Philips T.V's when compared to the other major brands. :scratchchin:

Not good. ALso regarding your Choice on HD Ready and HD.

Go for a 22" Full HD for Gaming. Just lemme know your Gaming Room size, I mean how big it is... ? For a Full HD TV you have to shed few more bucks but for 22-24" Monitors you get a Full HD ones that are as good as a TV.

Also some of you have asked regarding the Vierra Series of Panasonic :

I say its an A++ when it comes to Plasma but LED I think Sony deserves to be better.

Both Panasonic Plasmas and Sony LED's (High End) have very Deep Blacks that can be compared to Poineer! One of the Best Displays you will ever see, Just the natural look.. This is where the Samsung and LG LEDs Lack, However the Samsung Plasmas are also great.

For Gaming and moderate TV :- Definitly go for a Plasma.

For TV and moderate Gaming :- Go for LEDs.

Cheers!

hi guys, thinking of getting a 32" led plz suggest

If it's for gaming, get a plasma. At 32", you'll not see a big difference between led, lcd and plasma in terms of resolution. And plasma will have better black rendering. And it's damn cheap. And the recent plasmas are not power match like their ancestors.

Hello Guys,

I am planning to buy new 42 inch LCD TV this week, need suggestion from you guys based on following factors.

- Will be used in living room mostly as a TV for family and casually for gaming on Xbox (8-10 hours a week max.)

- Need 1080p for gaming and playing movies from Xbox , that is why I dropped the plan for Plasma TV, which are cheaper.

- I have Airtel HD DTH connection, so looking for decent picture quality its OK if it is not the best because I am on tight budget.

- My most essential aim is to get big size TV (minimum 40-42") that can display HD stuff very well. And 2 HDMI minimum for Xbox & Airtel HD DTH

Now my budget is around 45-46000, so i practically cant go for LED and I am not obsessed with it as well.

My options right now are - LG 42CS560 LCD 42 inches Full HD Television Here

And there is one plasma i cant find link have 3 HDMI, not Full HD and comes at price 36500 locally.

What should I go for? Plasma is not full HD, is it good?. Any suggestion welcome!

Can hardly find 2-3 products that are currently out of stock, I guess I need to roam around local markets to find deals on LED. From past week runaround couldnt find any LED less than 50K in my city may be because of the 4% octroi charged by local corporation.

LED backlit LCDs are also not really full array of LED in reality, then why bother for LED at all? BTW I know about low power consumption and better blacks but still LCDs are lot cheaper.

LED TVs are good if you can get one with local dimming. But it makes sense only at larger screen sizes (>42) Sony has some interesting models. LED/LCD TVs have a problems with glare reflection. Please check your tolerance and light in the room.

For maximum screen size for the buck stick with a plasma.

Check with Croma. They have the best deals. See if you can get into a group buy (see HiFiVision). I got an eye-popping 63% off the MRP on a Panasonic Plasma in a group buy last year.

ok...asking a Q that has been beaten to death here :fear: Considering it's festive season and there are all sorts of offers flying across; i was wondering if i shud pick a tv to replace my 32" LG that has been running for close to 3 years now. Choice is between a samsung/bravia 55". However, someone at work is recommending a samsung plasma. I would love plasma as far as picture quality is concerned (not high on 3D and sh*t) but not sure about after sales support/maintenance costs :( someone kindly advise.

I've got a 40" LG Plasma. Picture quality i stop notch. The blacks are the best compared to LCD/LED. I've not had any issues with the TV expect a bit of image burn in which is kinda annoying. Elec costs are also not high. I normally get a bill of around 600-700 at the most. Haven't had any maintenance issues since i bought it, which was around 6 months back.
