Guys, any good non-chinese TV in 50 - 60k range. Have to buy it for mom to watch serials. Only preference is screen size and sound.

You can get Frame 55 inch for about 65k depending on ongoing offers and exchange. Possibly the best bang for buck in that price.

I don't think TVs are getting delivered as they aren't essential items.

Else any half decent LG/Samsung in that budget will be fine.

Is buying from LG site  recommended or will Amazon/FK also do.

I've ver purchased TVs online so can't really comment, but LG website has all TVs listed at full price while local stores/amazon etc offer better prices.

Imo ive always found local stores to be the cheapest option. Maybe try calling any in your area if they can deliver it?

Don't listen to these OLED gasbags.

Prioritise the content and then the display. Get a PS5 or XSX first and buy the TV that fits in the remaining budget. Or buy an OLED to watch Netflix.

You're coming off a 1080p display so most 4K displays will be a huge upgrade for you. Only keep in mind that brands like TCL and Hisense are well regarded in the US but they use lower quality panels for India so you won't get that experience.

Being one of those who moved from 1080p to 4K, and bought the TV after considering budget, I wholeheartedly agree.

That said, I'll probably consider an OLED 4-5years down the line. But very satisfied with FALD(cheapest one probably) for now.

Good to see some non OLED peeps posting here and actually recommending against it if you don't have a budget instead of selling everything and buy OLED only [emoji14]

I am enjoying my Frame as of now. Will probably buy an OLED once I have a proper budget for that or they become cheaper.

I think for non OLED purchases, Frame is a good bet.

I regularly see blooming on X95G the moment a white text comes on screen. The whole array lights up, and the darks are never as good as OLED.

FALD is not a great stop gap solution. For those on 60-70k budget, Frame. For those up, OLED.

I know what you mean. I have an X95G as my only TV and I do notice the bloom especially for logos, etc, but when primary consumption is colourful moving picture (games) the bloom isn't an issue.

And again, as someone who bought this after previously only gaming at 1080p, the leap is still astronomical. Blanket recommending OLED is like saying Ferrari is better than Honda to someone who's only ever owned a bicycle.

And not to mention that the leap from 70k (or even 80k) to 120k is not an easy one for everyone.

But recommending someone a FALD instead of an OLED when they're coming off a edgelit TV, is like recommending someone to watch Radhe because they requested for entertainment in a pinch. Why not suggest the universally acclaimed best option which is to Avoid Radhe?

The long-term psychological effects of suggesting an easy choice can be devastating. ?

I agree that bloom is primarily visible on dark scenes, and the colorful moving pictures still look stunning. I'm not sure if they look more stunning than a well done edge lit TV like Frame. Don't have that point of comparison.

What I meant is a well done ELCD can be almost as good as FALD, and hence people can save some money with the Frame. Or go high enough for an OLED.

FALDs are neither here nor there atm.

Frame costs 75k ish for 55 inch

Not really. 77k, with tons of cards offers and discounts during sales. If you've an 50 inch+ TV to exchange, it will come down to 60k or so.

I was getting the same price last year before I went with X95G.

X90H went for 80k. No one is buying it at MRP.

HDMI 2.1 is working just fine on it. VRR is still missing but that is the case with Sony's OLED as well. So not really OLED vs FALD but more like LG vs Sony.

I mean, it's nice that people can stretch their budgets but what if the person already stretched and reached 80k?

As for Frame vs x90H, the latter is much better in everyday use.

Also in edge lit you always get the bright glow around the edge of the screen, always.

In my personal experience a well done edge lit tv actually was 100 times better than FALD. In both cases it was a premium offering at its time.

I used to regret selling the samsung elcd for FALD for such a long time because deep within i knew i was in deep sh*t. Just the 4k HDR upgrade kept me going on.

I like my gaming and movies in dark. And FALD absolutely murders the pq with the dimming zones dancing around like a newly hired bar-girl on probation.

OLED is sex.

FALD is what you do with yourself when you're alone.

I got my Frame 55 for 73k after cashback two weeks ago. A couple of days later, it went down as low as 69.5k

I think during the Diwali sale, it goes down to low 60s post exchange.
