Which tv would you be in the market for?

C3

I would sprung for Sony depending on the deals and also because there is no way to get F1 TV app on LG without using browser or another medium.

Depends though, I will be traveling and don't have a lot of time to make that purchase, might get pushed.

Im in market for a Sony A95L 65 inches this season. Incase you decide to go ahead with your purchase, maybe we can push for a better discount on 2 tv purchases.

May I know why TVs depreciate much higher than other electronics like laptops and smartphones in apps like Cashify. It is my main reason why I don’t buy expensive or latest TV models.

How do you sell your TVs?

How often would you sell your TV vs a phone ? I think a well kept TV will easily last 7-10 years unless something major breaks and the cost of repair is high - that’s what I aim at anyway. 5th year running. Needed a mobo change in between but that was around 7k.
Phones are sold every 2-4 years, and are portable devices vs the need to find and fix a place and hang 55-75 inches of metal.
So far we have mostly given away the TVs to househelps since places like Cashify etc will hardly pay 2-5k for LEDs etc.

iPads and TVs are 2 pieces of tech which can serve for long IMO.

Yeah I usually upgrade iPads and iPhones for around 4-5 years. The iPad 6th gen bought for 22k has a value of around 12k in cex site. However premium 1lakh LG OLED 4K TVs drop in to about same value after 3 years. Of course I can sell via OLX but they are a big pain due to low ballers.

How do you sell on Olx - as in how does a buyer know if the TV is working well when buying ? Giving demos will be impossible, given you might need to unpack/pack, connect/disconnect etc multiple times.

Planning to look at some oled during Dusshera sales, have eyes on c2 48"

Usage will be gaming and content consumption, might put it on desk and use it as a monitor for pc/ pc gaming/ and work as well..

I am confused between these 2 TVs - getting Sony 75X9500G for INR 95K which is a demo / box damaged piece and has only 1 year Sony warranty which can't be extended. The other option is brand new Samsung 70 inch CU7700 from Reliance Digital which I have negotiated down to INR 81k and will have a 3 year warranty. I will prefer the larger and higher end 75 inch Sony with FALD etc, but I am conscious of the fact that it could be a demo piece and the model is now 3 years old, while the Samsung is a newer 2022/23 model, even though a basic one.

I am mainly going to use the TV for OTT consumption and a bit of casual ps4 gaming. My viewing distance is 14 feet.

Eager to hear everyone's views which can help me make this decision. Thanks.

Never buy demo units. These are blasted at full brightness and even if it is FALD, back lighting has a working age.
I would recommend to come up with an alternative solution.

As said above dont buy demo units. even if the timer says 10 hours only (They manipulate this) also sony TV's are as sturdy as they used to be.

Please don't get Sony FALDs, specially the old ones. I've an X9500G, and I wouldn't wish the TV on my enemies.

Any particular reason why?

The back lighting is uneven, blooming is clearly visible. You can see the FALD zones in certain scenes. The AQ is PATHETIC, absolutely rubbish for a TV costing nearly 80-85k. The OS gets stuck for no reason, sometimes loses HDMI connectivity, sometimes reboots itself. Apps get stuck and won’t respond till you do a hard off/on.
Would expect all of this from a substandard brand. Sony is just riding the brand name now.

I have a 2 year old model Sony OLED and that has none of these software issues. Could be a one off case. My uncle bought a top end Sony led couple of years back and that has no software issues either. In fact, after using both those tvs, i much prefer Android over the software in my LG OLEDs.

Maybe they have improved. Mine is a 2019 model. But it is a bitter experience. In contrast the LG C8 is just blazing through without any lags even now (2018 model). No issues, just pure simple stuff that works.
Had to pony up money and buy a soundbar for Sony. Whereas the sound from LG is good enough for casual listening, clear dialogues, decent bass.

I guess it is a one off case then. For sound also, it is pretty loud and crisp and I haven't felt the need to get any soundbar.

I have a 2019 model as well my parents use it extensively for streaming and I use it from time to time. No complaints honestly with regards to the software. Sound is obviously a big con.

Got a bad apple then. With hardly another 10-15k, could have gone for C9. Bad bet.
