I was thinking mainly from gaming and netflix pov, so content will be 4k mostly.  Will need to take a demo at croma:bigyellowgrin:

If you are thinking from gaming then look at LG QNED it has VRR and 120HZ refresh rate, it was around 20K expensive. Since I would never hook up a console on this tv that two were not my preferences. Also LG is promising 5 year webos updates now, that is also great. LGQNED80. If i was planning to play games, I would have bought this only.

Around 1.5L for C4, 1.9L for G4.

These were Diwali prices.

Damn, after making few inquiries. Nobody is even coming close to these prices. 1.85L is lowest I have gotten for C4.

These are super unrealistic prices.

Even in Diwali unless there is some super strong link or buying Display Unit…no one can get that price.

I got LGC365 last January at 1.75 & I had a moderate link in Vijay Sales.

Just because you cannot negotiate, that does not mean they are unrealistic.
These prices were available throughout Delhi NCR.
I first bought 65G3 for 1.6L and then bought a 55G4 for 1.25L, have invoices for both.

Link, sure. Lol. You can believe that you did not overpay and sleep calmly.

Just check HifiVision and go back to Diwali time on the forum, you will see around the same ball park.
When I was buying, I added a full trace log over here and few members from this forum were able to get the same prices.

Diwali is the time to buy these units, you do not get the same prices anytime else.

Do not just listen to folks who cannot make a deal and cry foul.

I cannot wait that long, parents need a new TV as they want to upgrade from their 55" Samsung QLED. I need to lock in purchase before close of this month. Will go again tomorrow to see what prices I can get but looking bad here :\

I don't think anyone should expect a 5+ year life from their OLEDs.

Sony is anyway not producing flagship OLEDs anymore, Mini LED will probably take over the whole market. So enjoy the OLEDs while they last.

Mine is from 2018. Running pretty great.

If newer OLEDs cant even do 5 years, it is really a WTF moment.

Now I am worried about my OLED too. Completed 4 years. Is there a newer tech where panels can last more than 5 years?

They have definitely made improvements in panel heat dissipation and the amount of organic material each diode uses to product the same luminance.

It's not about newer OLEDs, it depends on your usage pattern and mainly luck as well. It's like silicon lottery, there are bound to be duds which don't perform as well.

Also I don't think newer sets will face this issue as much i.e. post C3/G3 series.

Anyway, whenever I am buying an electronic, I just divide the cost by 5 because that's what I am paying yearly to buy it and I don't have any more expectations. People don't even expect macbooks to last 5 years, TVs are a far cry.

Bruh what ? Who are these rich people?

My LG Gram - going strong since 4 years

iPad - 8 years with a battery change (cheap repair)

C8 - 7 years (with a mobo change at 6 years, which was cheap repair)

Nothing has failed in a way which was expensive. And I live in an area prone to electronic malfunction due to drain gases.

My horizon for any gadget is 10 years minimum (with cheap QoL repairs built in).
