So far this season every one seems to just pass the ball to Gerrard when he is playing instead of taking chances themselves and creating something. It should be interesting to see where Gerrard will play when he returns. Not exactly, Gerrard was always missed... But since Dalglish, pool have been turned upside down... Now, everyone seem to play as a unit.. & it seems this team never really had Gerrard... Suarez Meireles Kuyt Lucas & now Carroll,,, these 5 are on top of their games! Mel81x Posted April 12, 2011 Report Share Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) I'd go far enough to say we are still lacking some smarter play at the back and eventhough players like Lucas and Spearing are playing pretty well there is still something missing in the long distribution we were getting with Steven at the back. I really hope during the summer we sign either Charlie or someone like Jarvis because in one player you get a distributive mid-fielder who isn't scared to smack long-range shots and his foot is very good while in the other you've got a winger who finds the head of the tallest player in the box and with Andy and Suarez operating the box with Raul, Dirk and tertiary support running up front there are better chances. With Wolves anfd B'pool at the bottom someone has to snap these players up and if Charlie looks at the way Kenny is setting up the team he will find time to play first-team football even if Steven is fit. Shebby Singh said that the strike pair at anfield will be the most deadliest pair but I think the best forward attacking squad might be Liverpool next season if we can solidify our defensive line and re-inforce the left or right wing system with a more dynamic player leaving the three in the middle to rotate. I want to see Kenny give Pacheco another chance but with Suarez as the rotator. David N'gog was put on but I think its time to let that man leave Anfield and make way for a youth system player to grow. With these set of players pool can finally now challenge genuinely for title next season , they deserve to be back in CL as well.
