as we were on the topic of blackpool, let me tell you Charlie Adam is very very overrated

the real star of blackpool's season, and the reason adam was allowed to shine - David Vaughan ! Terrific player, will rarely get goals or assists but when he was injured, blackpool didn't win a single game and conceded more goals than any other period.. would be an excellent pickup for any EPL team, more so than Charlie

i totally agree bro.

i don't know y ppl rate Adam above Vaughan. Vaughan was d real soul of Blackpool.

Its because Adam is more flamboyant.. he makes great cross-field passes and his set-piece delivery is brilliant.. people tend to remember goal scorers/highlights grabbers.. people forget that defensively Adam is horrible, has a boatload of yellow cards, and who can forget that challenge on Bale at WHL? One of the worst tackles of the season, if it was a Stoke player, the whole league would be screaming bloody murder

This brings me back to how people always love to make one guy shine and forget about the rest of the 10 hard-working players on the pitch. Every big team is guilty of this. I think Blackpool as a unit just came out with loads of heart and played to their best. Sadly, you can't make waves in your first season with the top flight. It takes time and they are unfortunately not going to get that time come next season.

Hes still a little brash in his touch/tackling at times but overall yeah he was really good that day. Something I find funny in this video is that the Spain team never likes putting the ball over the defense unless they really have to but most of the crosses from the back four for England are going over the midfield into striker/winger possession. Ah good old long ball still hasn't disappeared.

Arda Turan finally linked with Chelsea... Through Hiddink's Turkish connection (lol)... Let me say that over a couple years I was astonished as to how this player failed to catch the eye of all the big clubs.. I saw him in a couple of Galatasaray & Turkey matches and this boy was a live wire all throughout!!!

That guy has very sublime ball control. The touches are just right and that opens up defenders. It will be interesting to see how he does in the PL next season if Chelsea nab him. Turkish players in general are pretty good its just that they don't get too much of the spotlight like they used to.

Apparently this was voted by 188SPORT as Liverpool's moment in time. When you see it and all the superstars back then you kinda think they might be right.

No one's gonna sign irrespective of $$ until Chelsea get a coach

I know that very well... I've been ranting this cry for a while now... But they cant be that big idiots to start putting in bids without coaches,... I think backroom talks are being taken care of with the prospect of a new which has already been decided but not officially announced!!

Despite not having a manager after the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti, Chelsea are seemingly busy attempting to reinforce their squad before the Italian's successor is appointed.

Chelsea want Argentina youngster Javier Pastore, confirms the Palermo president!

Please ignore if this is posted.

@Madhav: Repped! I was laughing so hard that I couldn't stop even after I stepped away from my desk.

Anyone here watching the women's WC? Also Copa America starting in a few weeks. Predictions?

22mil for Luka... It's not a joke bid. How can the player be worth double that amount? Modric is a very good player but £22m is not too far off the mark. Daniel Levy drives a hard bargain and Chelsea will obviously pay more to get him. But back to Luka, let's be fair he hasn't set the world alight. Bale and Van der Vaart have been much more outstanding this season. Not only that but I remember when we signed Didier Drogba for £24m in 2003/4 and although he just dived around in his first season, he had already set the world alight with numerous one-man performances in the UEFA cup and CL against Liverpool, Newcastle, Madrid and others for Marseille.

My point is that Luka is not worth £40-odd million. I saw him at the match against us at the end of last season and he was good. He created space well and made a few bursts but that's about as much as I saw of him because we dominated the match. I hope we sign him because I believe he has a lot of potential and I know that we will have to pay over the mark but I suppose Chelsea have to because City might.
