kaka_messi
Parker closes on Spurs move The 30-year-old was not included in the West Ham squad which travelled to Nottingham Forest as the deal, believed to be worth £6million, neared a conclusion. West Ham boss Sam Allardyce expects the move to be finalised in the next 24 hours feeling Parker was not mentally right to play against Forest. "There are some negotiations going on and I don't think he would be mentally right to play," Allardyce told Sky Sports HD 1. "It will come to fruition in the next 24 hours or so." modric

prakhar
Today is the day when we stopped respecting teams just for their name and acted professionals till the very final whistle. Completely satisfying performance. Obviously the scoreline doesn't reflect much. Our second string defense conceded 2, Arsenal's conceded 8. That is all there is to read into this. We have plenty of big games coming up, and we must build on it. But all things aside, for the rivalry's sake, for all the things in the past, this is one good twatting which would remain in the highlight reel when the rivalry gets discussed again. We owned a poor Arsenal team without any mercy and we were strictly professional and ruthless. Nice to see us play like this after a long time. SchneideR
My oh my oh my oh my!!! What a day it was. What a f**ckin day to watch United rip apart a hapless Arsenal squad. First goal up and I was wondering, here we go. Then Arsenal were awarded a penalty and I kid you not, I told my gf (who was watching the match at the stadium with me) De Gea is gonna save this penalty and redeem himself. And when he did, I LMAO'd! It was actually because I have seen him practice penalties in a video when he was signed. In the video he dived in correct direction every single time (even if he let a few in). He senses these things brilliantly. All he needs to work on are two things, concentration (todays first Arsenal goal was a testimonial for that) and low dives. I still feel he has a great future. This penalty save I felt was important as a 1-1 scoreline could have galvanized Arsenal. I say "could" even though United were a class apart. Today the crowd was very loud. Actually felt like an alive atmosphere compared to the Tottenham match. The stadium seating arrangement must also be appreciated. I was sitting on the top tier of the stadium in North Stand and yet I could see everything (even though it looks as if I am watching players from a top down view and felt a sense of vertigo). Took a few clicks as well. Yes Radwa I shall upload 'em soon... About the game. Well I cant say I enjoyed the thrashing doled out by United to Arsenal. It was like lambs against the lions. Sad but true. I have been harping about this from a long time but Wenger really needs to sign a CB and few more players. This is not a side that can win anything. Lower league clubs are giving the seasoned teams some good competition and if you stand still against the competition and not invest, then I am afraid you will be run over. Hope had asked how is Park Chu Young. Well he is neither Park nor Young but he is a decent striker nonetheless... I think he is the current captain of South Korea. Thats a start by Arsenal but I feel enough of these forwards. Get in some steel Wenger. I may be wrong but Parker could have been a good investment for Arsenal. Wenger needs to stop this penny pinching and get Cahill in asap or else he is going to do more damage to the psyche of this young squad. Sorry I rambled on about Arsenal. I am no pundit but it is disappointing to see "the invincibles" being schooled in this fashion. I am happy for United but I dont want Arsenal to fall back from the race so badly. Lets hope Wenger regains consciousness within 3 days. BTW - anyone needs 720P highlights of the match .. pm me Yes please... SchneideR
A post mortem by an Arsenal fan - http://gunnerblog.com/2011/08/29/8-2-a-post-mortem/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Gunnerblog+%28Gunnerblog%29 Loved these quotes. "I told you that “the night is darkest just before the dawn”. It’s a turn of phrase I had heard the character of Harvey Dent use in Christopher Nolan’s Batman film, ‘The Dark Knight’. It’s supposed to engender comfort among troubled souls; to tell them that although things seem bad, they are almost certainly about to get better. I conveniently forgot to mention that shortly afterwards Dent loses half his face in a fire and becomes a psychopathic killer. The night, for Gotham, just gets darker. And so it has proved for Arsenal’s start to the season." "I’ve touched on our weakened team. It’s no excuse. We had injuries? So did they. United were without their first-choice central defensive pairing of Ferdinand and Vidic, as well as key midfielders like Michael Carrick and Antonio Valencia. Our team was young? Well, on average, United’s was younger. What we witnessed yesterday was, plainly, inexcusable." "Johan Djourou is going backwards faster than the DeLorean time machine...." kaka_messi
Palacios set to sign for Stoke.Crouch also linked with a move to the Britannia Stadium Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Wilson Palacios has undergone a medical at Stoke and has also revealed that he is uncertain over the future of striker Peter Crouch. Stoke chairman Peter Coates confirmed the Potters were in discussions with Tottenham last week over the 27-year-old. It is understood that Palacios could move to the Britannia Stadium for a fee in the region of £8million. "Wilson Palacios is having a medical at Stoke," Redknapp said after Sunday's 5-1 defeat to Manchester City. Crouch has also been linked with a move to the Potters, but Redknapp does not want to see the striker leave. ========================================================= Roman offers £40m for Modric while Bellamy says 'yes' to Spurs Roman Abramovich has launched one last £40million bid to prise Luka Modric from Tottenham and add more guile to Chelsea's stuttering midfield. Tottenham are planning a busy week themselves by signing Wales striker Craig Bellamy, 32 from Manchester City Redknapp is also expected to bring in midfield reinforcements in the shape of West Ham's Scott Parker and Lassana Diarra of Real Madrid. Leaving Spurs are Peter Crouch and Wilson Palacios(both to Stoke) plus defender Alan Hutton(Aston Villa). Levy is determined to dig his heels in over Modric, 25, offering him a pay increase to £85,000 per week in an attempt to keep the player for another season. Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas saw his side labour for long spells in a 3-1 home win against Norwich on Saturday. When questioned about Modric later, he said: 'If it happens, it happens.' Should Abramovich be rebuffed again, he could even make a move for Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder, a long-term Manchester United target. Inter want Chelsea winger Florent Malouda plus £27.5m.
