I can understand your pessimism but Mertesacker is a quality player. Keep the faith bro, don't be so pessimistic. Take it as a blessing in disguise, Wenger needed a kick in the nuts

Mertesacker is good for his style of play. Hes a solid, big defender who reads the game well but is extremely slow. We plays a very very dangerously high line of defense. Its imperative we have fast defenders. Unless Arsene changes his tactics around I cant see Per being successful. Its also worth noting that in over 15 years Arsene has been in charge of arsenal, the defensive line remains high as always, if not higher.

I think they did well in the transfer window. Now, getting them all integrated is the next question

I just follow clubs and news feeds for clubs on Twitter. Some of the players I want to follow use languages I can't read except for Spanish, French and Arabic. Plus, you'll get far more fun stuff out there if your following club tweets.

Ya we have done well but I reckon we need 1 more striker if Ngog is leaving

I don't think that's Kenny's plan honestly. When you look at the purchases done, none of them seem to be out and out strikers. I think that goes back to the Academy and its training structure as well which is where Kenny seems to be deriving the master plan from. In the days when we were a winning side at top-flight in Europe it wasn't muscle more than having all 10 active players on the pitch moving the ball and creating opportunities around the box irrespective of positions held by those players in the setup. That is what he is going for now and this lines up with the midfield purchases as well over the summer. If we were to get a striker, I'd say get a young'un from the academy and give him a run with the first team on days when we can afford it to bring up the home-grown talent. Also, they were looking at Affelay as an acquisition but that is probably not going to happen now.
