oh, are there any strategies involved too?, like the manager and keeper

disscuss which side he should dive for a paticular player or is it totally upto the keeper?

If a manager knows any oppn plyr well in and out.. he will definitely tip his keeper.. else.. itz all upto a keeper's reflex and instinct.. The latter being the most in cases...

FIFPro, the international players' union, has called on UEFA to show leniency to the Chelsea and Bayern Munich stars ruled out of the Champions League final due to cumulative yellow cards.

UEFA's rules stipulate that any player booked in three separate games from the group stage onwards must serve a one-match ban, and this year's finalists stand to lose three players apiece due to cautions issued in their semi-final second legs this week.

Chelsea - in addition to captain John Terry, who was shown a straight red card - will be without Branislav Ivanovic, Ramires and Raul Meireles after their bookings at Barcelona, and Bayern's Luiz Gustavo, David Alaba and Holger Badstuber are all due to serve suspensions after being shown yellow cards at Real Madrid.

Given that UEFA is to follow FIFA's policy of wiping the slate clean at the quarter-final stage for Euro 2012 this summer, FIFPro believes this stance should be implemented for the Champions League final.

"Anybody committing a serious offence in the semi-final should be awarded a red card and miss the final, but the offences that result in a yellow card do not justify the serious punishment of missing the match of your life," FIFPro spokesman Simon Barker said. "For example, Alaba slipped over and gets the ball kicked against his hand - it is not right that such a player should miss the Champions League final because of this.

"Some people say that this will give players the licence to kick all and sundry during the semi-final, but that is utter nonsense. Any serious offence will result in a red card and that still means exclusion from the final."

UEFA has confirmed that Chelsea captain John Terry will be able to lift the Champions League trophy and collect his medal should the Blues beat Bayern Munich.

Terry is suspended for the final at the Allianz Arena on May 19 following his red card against Barcelona in Tuesday's semi-final second leg at the Camp Nou.

However, despite having to watch the match from the stands, UEFA has confirmed Terry would be able to join in with any post-match celebrations.

A statement read: "If Chelsea win the 2012 UEFA Champions League Final, John Terry will be allowed to lift the trophy and collect the medal."

UEFA will not change its rules to allow the six suspended Chelsea and Bayern Munich players to play in the Champions League final despite appeals for clemency from international players' union FIFPro.

UEFA has stood firm over the suspensions for those who picked up their third yellow card of the competition in this week's Champions League semi-finals, despite the appeals from FIFPro.

A UEFA spokesman confirmed the decision on Thursday: "The regulations of the competition are established at the beginning of the competition and remain in place for the duration of the season.

"Any changes to the regulations for the future would need to be proposed by the club competitions committee and approved by the UEFA executive committee."

Six first-choice players will miss the final on May 19 due to yellow card suspensions - three from either side. Chelsea will be without Branislav Ivanovic, Ramires and Raul Meireles, whereas opponents Bayern will be lacking Holger Badstuber, David Alaba and Luiz Gustavo.

You can't be offside in your own half.

 They are right.

You can't change these types of rules in between a tournament.
