Having good youth talent is not enough .You need to make the most of them . Barca had won the Champion's league two years before pep arrived and reached semi finals a year before. They won it when they were 1 man team . During that stage Xavi and Iniesta were considered too small to play for Barca. No comparison with Ferguson but not respecting him because he won everything with Barca is stupidity . People here forget Barca were not the best team in the World when he took over ,it was United and till that final it was United .He dethroned them ,he dethroned Real Madrid as well .Besides being a great coach he was also a great human being unlike the special one . Nemo Posted April 27, 2012 Report Share Posted April 27, 2012 Completely disagree Guardiola may have inherited a good squad but just to let you know the squad which he had inherited finished 3rd in the league 18 points behind Real Madrid .What People forget is that these last 4 years Barcelona have been the best in the World .2 Champions League Wins,2 more semi finals and 3 league titles .Also you should see the way how barcelona defend when they lose the ball .When they lose the ball the closest 2 players immediately press the opposition to retain the ball or to force the opponent into clearing .they carry out this pressing for the next 10-15 seconds and if the fail to retain the ball then they all form a wall to defend .Even their main striker Lionel messi comes back to defend .These defensive tactics are very hard to implement and its only via these defensive tactics that they can play their beautiful football .When Guardiola arrived,before that they had Edmilson and Van Bommel in the central midfield who would be more like the ball winners .Guardiola is a very good coach,he played the last 4 years in the Barcelona way,he kept on giving chances to youngsters ,he did not cry when his team lost and he always acknowledged and congratulated the other teams .Top Top Human Being and a good coach . I respect him as a human being and as a footballer, great respect but i am not yet fond of him as a coach mainly cause his barca lacked a plan B. Also you cant deny that the squad he has is the best in the world and any monkey will be able to win trophies with it, maybe you are right, maybe not. Guys do yourself a favor Watch the Champions League Semis against United in 2008 and see the final in 2009. See the difference in the way they played with the same squad .
