Nemo Posted May 21, 2012 Report Share Posted May 21, 2012 I won't quit being a fan becoz I became one before my club turned into an Owner's play toy(same can't be said about majority of overseas Chelsea fans, can it?) but for me any victory which Arsenal has after that would be very difficult to swallow & I would always speak against that type of ownership as much as an individual supporter can do(I still do it - against possible ownership of Arsenal by Russian thug Alisher Usmanov). speak to a rangers/blackburn fan and they will tell you why I support an owner like Roman. And for every one who said, so what you must be wishing this was your club - No mate I would never want Arsenal to win a trophy like that. You know what, it might hurt Chelsea/City fans a lot but your club is nothing like a wh*re to Abrahimovich/Sheikh Mansour - they derive pleasure from spending money on your club, why would you want to support a club like that! Spending what a club earns is the only way how a club should be run and that money is earned directly from supporters & supporters only! Under current rules you can't stop clubs from being owned by billionaires but why support a club who is working like this?? And even if you became a fan of Chelsea from pre-Roman era, atleast don't celebrate as if your club won something on merit coz frankly you didnt and making it into an heroic thing!! I am a Chelsea fan from the pre-Roman era and if Roman(and all Chelsea fans) has learnt anything after taking over Chelsea, is that money may get you the best players in the business but NOT trophies.... Chelsea had to to gut it out this season... Just because Roman spends sh*t loads of money the trophies were not given to Chelsea on a silver platter... We had to fight it out against Napoli and overcome a deficit of 2 goals... We had to beat Benfica which none of the Manchester clubs could do.... We had to gut it out against Barca having reduced to 10-men... And to top it all, we had to beat Munich in Munich, which is not an easy task... And yes, Chelsea played ugly... We may have won the league by only defending... But when someone asks you who won the CL in 2012?? Chelsea.... Thats all you'll say, no one will wait for you to give a lecture on how Chelsea is a wh*re to Roman and all other crap... So drop it and let the Chelsea fans have their moment... This is becoz you fail to realize the real problem - the problem is not just having a billionaire owner, its how a club is run! A club should always spend what it earns, that straight away removes the problem of bankruptcy like Rangers - ever overspend. And getting relegated is not related to financial regularity/irregularities. A billionaire owner should only be allowed to invest in the infrastructure & youth structure of the club from his own pocket, buying players for the team should always be down to what your club earns - that is the best way to run the club. What clubs like yours have done is the opposite of predatory pricing(which mind you is considered illegal in many countries). Price the best players out of competition.
