Cash
we dont have anyone as a backup.. Evra does look like weak link in the starting XI though Jones? He is solid just needs some development. Smalling as rb,jones lb,Vidic,Ferdi. Better than evra at least Berbatov will be sold. With RVP uptop , Rooney can play in the midfield and can be the creative force. This is what i dont want. With kagawa in,i thought rooney could play more upfront now i guess he will play as CAM. rad2689
The Telegraph believe United will pay £15m for RVP up front, rising to £24m with add ons which means appearances ect. Looks a much better deal from a United stand point if true.
gooner4life
Telegraph is the only one saying this. BBC & all others are saying - 22m + 2m bonuses based on clauses.

Nemo
Wow. What a sigining by fergie. Sucks to be an arsenal fan though. Respect for Drogba for he refused despite one of the greatest manager showing interest. That's what you call class, unlike Van Persie. Nemo
I cannot believe how hopeful some people are. They think that Persie plus Rooney equals both their goal tallies combined next season. two specialist lone strikers, that too. How they all jizzed for nothing when beerbuttoff was bought. haven't learnt anything.
Nemo
Modric saga near the end, as per SSN deal with Real for 23mn plus add on. Good luck Levy with that cash & AVB, we'd offered more. Shrewd business Indeed :| But then again, holding him back got Spurs into fourth place and the Champions League, so it was all worth it last year. Hey, wait a minute................ shekdown
Well, what we do know is that one of the biggest sins in football cost 24m pounds. I normally wish players well if they did well at Arsenal or genuinely loved the club. But Van Persie joining United is one of the most spiteful things done in football since Figo to Madrid. RvP is now officially dead to me. And he can comfortably forget all his years at Arsenal, because he will no longer be remembered at the club for all the games he played(or little games when he was not on the injury table) and all the goals he scored. Goodbye motherf**ker, I hope you and your club crash and burn.

beb0p
Shocked to hear about the transfer but the cool 24 mill we got out of it softens the blow a bit. No one is bigger than the club. Onwards and Upwards.
VelivolusDas
When we had Fabregas and Nasri, we used to finish fourth.... They left and we finished third last season... Now with RvP gone, it should only get better.... Yeah, that's the stupid logic I kept reminding myself when I came to know about the deal being done.... Wish him all the luck but I'm really very sad....
